Synopsis [more like an explanation requested by some of you]:

Six hours have been lost. The actual splitting of the clock it's a split in the time and space reality. So, what we have here is a gap between Mr. L and Mrs. L’s perception of time. The characters occupy the same space but not in the same time, they are six hours apart and this fact is pointed mainly through the presence of the wife. We see her coming home to an empty house because we see her perception of reality. We see him coming home and trying to fix this gap in the end but we don’t really know if he manages that or not.

Short story:
I am from Transylvania, Romania, 31 years old, this is my first movie ever. I made it with 3 friends in 1 week, after discovering by chance DvxUser.com.
I was looking for information about movie making techniques ...
I used Sony DCR-HR16E, 2 friends for the role and 1 for writing the story.
I want to thank Robert Rodriguez, who's life and book inpired me and gave me the courage to do this. :dankk2:

Okay...Let me just say again how much I LOVE your poster! It reminds me of the game "The 7th Guest" if you have ever played it. Creepy and cool!

Nice short.

I liked the music and how it went with the visuals.

I'll be honest; I didn't understand the story. I see that it was abstract, but I don't know the significance of the wife.

It seemed a lot of screen time focused on walking or just sitting. It could have been more entertaining if you only put what was relevant to the story on screen.

Good work though.

Just got done with the short. I usually write as I see. Since there is oh so many entries to look at. You totally knocked off the clock deal. But the story didn't get moving till a minute in. Needless to say I was a little bored. And the music just cut off at a minute nine.

Looked like some of it was blown out a little as well. I did like the music. Although I didn't understand the piece itself. The clock cut in half was nifty. And I think we lost the idea that a paper was put down due to the over-blown highlights. I didn't notice he put a note down at all till the second pass on the film.

Kinda reminded me of the MIST franchise. And I love those games (though sucked at them)

Good work. Just watch those highlights.

I loved the way the clock plays so loudly and, at times, rhythmically with the music. Interesting piece. Totally not what I expected "lost six hours" to mean.

I liked some of the shots, though you had some over exposure problems, in the interior of the Kitchen I'm guessing (when he was writing the note) I didn't get it...music was almost putting me to sleep and making me dream of 80's films...., Whats with the lost 6 hours thing?

Shots, sound/FX and cuts were excellent. Ballsy to have no dialogue.

You took us on a long drawn out ride and it was extremely slow at times.

Interesting music, but I can't say it all fit. The audio needs a much better mix since it plays such a strong part in the movie (no dialog). As a whole it seems to drag on for me and I really didn't know what was going on. You lost me at about 4:50 in....BUT, I LOVED the clock & sands of time shot!

I'd love to know what this was about, perhaps I'll get it on the second pass?

I think there's something mysterious and intriguing under the surface here.

Unfortunately it never came to the fore for me as I didn't understand the story at all and there was no conflict of any kind whatsoever to keep me interested.

Sitting. Writing. Reading. Not very interesting stuff in the abstract. Without a narrative hook or any conflict (the latter being the cardinal rule of film and theater) or even a clear dilemma, the resulting film didn't hold my interest.

Maybe if we were let into the characters more, saw that what was going on at least meant something to them - it could have worked. And that's what's going on in Lynch movies before someone brings him up. We don't have to understand 100% what's going on in the world for certain kinds of films, but there's still some kind of stakes going on usually. Here the main character has his back to us often. Writes a letter with all the stakes involved of a writing a "went to the store be right back note", and then the wife comes home and reads the letter and reacts as if she read a "went to the store be right back" note - ho hum, gonna take my earings off and read. So if they don't care and the shots are composed so we never see in to their thoughts, then we're not likely to care very much or be very engaged.

the music very much reminded me of a horror movie from the 80s (a good thing in my book). Though I’m not sure if your flick was uber serious or not? If anything, I thought the opening meditation was a bit lengthy for a 6 min short. Camera work was steady and the editing very deliberate. Obvious you had a clear vision of what you wanted. Keep it up!
