Moments when you realize you're a born filmmaker

I haven't had one of those moments. I just know that movies and photographs have always moved me. I enjoy creating "something out of nothing" that compels folks from all walks of life. I'm very much a novice at filmmaking despite having held a position at a TV station as their Production Manager.

I knew I was cut out for it when I made the best of installing and pumping septic tanks and pulling cleanup in a strip-club/nudie arcade. The stories and character profiles are amazing.

To end the joke, the average JM in Seattle makes $8.00, but all cleaning materials are provided.

I knew I was a born filmmaker when my mother was beating my sister for doing something, God knows what it was, and I walked in and said "Can we do that one more time, but this time with some more feeling?"

Then I ran. As fast as I could.

So, anybody else think this thread is incredibly similar to:

A not-too-old-at-all thread itself.

I'm not knockin' this one at all, I myself have posted threads that I KNOW had to have the same name and subject matter as previous ones. I was just wondering if anybody noticed.

Yeah I did! Copycat!

Heh, nah, it's all good.

I guess the moments when I know I'm a born filmmaker are when I just get this urge to tell a great story, and do more with it than just to write it down.

I'll hear a story and think, it needs to be on the big screen. Or inspiration hits me, and I start thinking who I can cast as the lead. Or I go to a location and know that something needs to happen here.

Sometimes I put on a song really loud and just sit down and picture a scene playing out in my head to the music.DUDE! I do that ALL of the time!!!

Sometimes, when sitting through a movie that's really boring me, I just sit there and imagine a different script with different dialog playing out in my head to the image up on screen...
