Hey Zak, what sort of "education" do you have? as in, did you go to film school? take a few workshops? or did you just start from the bottom and work your way up, learning as you went and building up a resume and connections?

I wish I saw it before you took it down. It looks really good from the posters and such (DVD release).

I kicked around at Pittsburgh Filmmakers for a little more than a year. then moved to LA. but my real education was discovering the works of Kieslowski, Tarkovsky, Hou Hsiao Hsien, Moodysson, Bela Tarr, Rohmer, etc, etc. i probably spent close to 8 years seeking out non-mainstream works that expanded my appreciation for what a film is supposed to be. then, in 2004, i was asked to join the filmmakers who made Blue in Green and that's where I learned a film could be made with a higher level of collaboration than most were used to.

now, i'm on my own journey, learning and developing a sophisticated method for incorporating improvisation into the process to get the kind of results we're looking for.

it was great. the film went over very well. had a lot of people coming up to marion and john afterward to lavish them with praise. want to thank everyone who came out... bosindy, all our friends from Heart of Now and of course Luis for asking the tough questions during the Q&A.

That's cool Zak. I had had a bunch of stuff show at Newfilmmakers NY. I guess I didn't put them together as the same entity...

Hey Zak, glad the screening went well and congrats on all the accolades. I wanted to go to the screening you had, but I had a friend from out of town and I couldn't make it.

Hey Zak, I've been watching your progress with this piece ever since I saw your LoveFest version. It was truly amazing. In fact, I still have the download on my computer because I actually love the song. Haha. I watched your clips on YouTube and can't wait to see the extended cut. You have been an inspiration and I wish you much luck with this and everything, you are a cool guy, and I hope someday we will be able to work together!

Awesome to see this film going so well for you Zak, especially since I believe you said you just wanted to "test" how to get stuff out their before promoting your feature.

Just curious though, is it a potential problem that your film used to be posted online?
