"Alien" video from Colorado

Oddly, Jerry Hofmann "colorado film school instructor" is a good friend of mine. BIG in the Final Cut Pro world.

A documentary? I would've cut that footage up into a few dozen pieces and sold it to the tabloids. Until I see footage of one of those things dead on a stainless steel table, I simply won't buy it.

“The video was originally shot by Stan Romanek who just happened to have a camcorder lying around when a four-foot tall, grey alien walked up and peeped into his window. According to Peckman, the video will show the alien blinking and breathing,” says TG Daily.
Not only did dud have a camcorder "lying around," he conveniently had it on a pretty solid tripod pointed right at his window. I'm going to have to call shenanigans on this one. The old Fox "Alien Autopsy" specials were hella more convincing than this...

yah, the rock solid tripod shot kinda gives it away for just "happening to have a camera lying around"... aside from the fact that there's in alien looking in his window :)

The grainy, black and white video he showed was shot by Stan Romanek in Nebraska in July 2003. Romanek said in a film clip that he thought there might have been a peeping tom peering through his window, spying on his two teenage daughters, so he grabbed a video camera and started recording.

Alien peeping tom, I know what I'm doing for horrorfest.

The story I heard was that that his kid was claiming that somebody was looking in on her/him at night and that he thought it was a peeping tom so he set up a camera.

I don't remember where I heard that story, though.

Hey Captain, I know Jerry. I see him at the CFVA and FCPUG meetings. Super nice guy and definitely knows his stuff.

I think the video was fake because I have the real Alien - Alien skull that is -

These people need to get their lies lined up before going public like this :-).

The problem with modern fx and even the quality of rubber masks, there would be no way to know for sure, based on video or pictures alone

Yeah, the story I read said that he had installed at least one camera to take infrared footage through a window or windows.

One thing is certain, if it is a security camera, then it must be recording 60i. You wouln't catch blinking and breathing on a typical frame reduced / frame grab video security camera.

The whole "make them wait a month or two before showing the footage thing" (in whatever program type) is really lame. What is this guy trying to do - line up investors for the documentary?

This "viral" campaign stuff we now live with is incredibly clever and incredibly irritating. I'm not sure I like it enough to say the clever beats how irritated I usually am made by it.

I think the other thing that's certain is that it's fake. It's about like saying you set up a camera and got a picture of Zeus. :)
