This is a new travel series that launched last week by Red Robot Entertainment in Denver. First cycle covers 6 cities, over 70 clips in the 2-2:30 range. Shot on 2 HVX200s in a run and gun style. All shot in 72030PN, mostly in spark and cinelike presets. Edited in FCP Studio 2.

We bought the 2 cams a few days before shooting, ran six 8gig cards btwn them and dumped to P2 60gig storage or simply copied raw contents onto drives. Dumped onto two G-Tech 1TB drives (simultaneously for redundant back up), usually during shoots in a passenger van running on power inverter. Short handed and low budget, the workflow was amazingly smooth. Glad we opted for HVXs over new Sony's.

Looking forward to shooting more cities soon.

Clips available soon for mobile phones at ATT.com.

Producer: Tim Glomb
Camera Ops: Roger Bagley and Tyler Ford
Audio: Vince Fratini
Editor: Robert Fraser
2nd Edits: Tim Glomb and Wes Waddell.

Note: Denver clips were shot as a pilot by a local crew in DVCPro50 and edited in SD. The quality plus old school tape/log workflow drove us to invest and shoot on HVX as well as produce in house.

All your episodes were very well made, infact I've been to almost all the cities in there but didn't know some of the places. How are you able to get very clean indoor and night shots? what's your set up for audio.... do you have a boom operator or lav's?
Good job, I will keep checking back on your site for new cities. Croc rock!!

We brought 2 simple Tota lights with diffuser umbrellas. Ran them off of a simple power inverter that I hard wired to the prod rental van's' battery. Find a small one and you can close the hood and run AC non stop. We were logging footage in the van constantly.
We did have an audio op with 2 Lectro wireless units. We didn't even have interference problems in Vegas where I have in the past. We did use a boom on set but never went to it in edit. One lav mic died on a SF location where there were 3 subjects, but other than that it went fairly smooth.
I also bought the Litepanels small LED on cam kit too. I was not impressed at the coverage though. The dimmer is a plus, but I've found that on the stock HVX200 lens it created a halo ring at full wide. You had to push in a bit, to nearly MF25, to eliminate any shadow outside the flood light's area. It still worked well, and in hindsight a third Tota on a stand would have covered better.

We hope to be shooting 6 more cities in the next month or so.

Thx.
Tim
