As usual this site is my guide always.
I recently bough a pair of three lenses and Letus Extreme with the
honest suggestions from people round here..
This time I come here for FF and rails...
My buget is not so great so cannot go for RR or anything higher..
so I have two options:

My camera set: HVX200 + letus Extreme + nikon AI lenses (50,28, 105)

1. indiFOCUSpro : http://www.indifocus.com/products_indifocuspro.htm
their $299 FF package
+ indiRAILSpro with 18 Inch at
http://www.indifocus.com/products_indirailspro.htm
the $129 package.
The total cost comes around $500 with shipping...
2. ebay cine ff and rails:

Please guide me as I need to buy this latest by friday morning..
really really appreciate the culture of information sharing here...

Please guys have a look and give your opinions...i know these are low budget and people are not comfortable with either of them, but still whoever has used/seen using these please pour in..

I have not used either, but I emailed a bit with the guy and he told me they make a 35mm mount for thir rails. Might be of interest to you.

I did not quite understand your reply. I am sorry for this.. will their present rail system not work as it is for the camera and adapter setup that i have?

His post doesn't make sense to me either. The rail block on both of them should fit standard 15mm rods.

I wouldn't go with the Cine FF. It looks exactly like an Indian made Redrock ripoff. There was a review a while back from someone who ordered one and it broke as soon as they try to use it. Indifocus isn't bad, a lot of people have them and are happy with it, but their lens gears aren't .8 pitch so it won't be compatible with any other FF system. I would spend a little more on the Indifocus package and get lens gear for all of your lenses; it speeds up setup time greatly.

Thanks Huy Vu for your reply. Sorry for this stupid question but what exactly you mean when you say .8 pitch. If I just have to use this FF system all the time with my 50,28,105mm AI lenses, will this not be enough?
Just trying to clarify my doubts....

Also what abuot their rails? shuold I buy the $129 package that they have will it be sufficient enough for letus extreme, HVX200 , nikon combination?

What i meant is that I have been emailing with Tim and he told me about a mount they make for 35mm adapters to connect it to the rails. This will take the load of the lens and adapter of the rings of your camera.

Sorry if the previous post does not make any sense.

.8 pitch is an industry standard for the lens gear - indiFOCUSpro uses a slightly different pitch, so if you upgrade in the future you will need to buy new lens gears in addition to a new follow focus. You will be fine with the indiFOCUSpro system if you don't need it to be compatible with other rigs - it is functional and durable and Tim is great with customer service. I owned one for a short while before upgrading to the Redrock. It is a great value for the price, and definitely the best that falls within your budget.

The indiRAILSpro support system I am not so crazy about. I own one of these as well, and while the carbon fiber rods are great and lightweight, I don't like the camera mounting block at all. I found it difficult to lock the camera down sufficiently, and it doesn't allow for side-to-side adjustments. Again though, it is doubtful that you will find another product with the same value in your price range.

Will thank you so much for making me undertand and answering dump questions of mine:)

so as per your opinion should I buy the $299(FF) + .8 pitch gear($22) and it should be good for all the nikon manual focus lenses i have?

well rails I do not havea choice i believe. just need to know whether the $129 package is sufficient for my camera and adapter or I need to include something else too....

I am wondering is someone interested in selling this indi rails or FF?
I might take an used one for now...

Just now called Tim and he asked me to buy the follow focus with gear package and the 18 inch rails.

Guys, do you suggest this is all I need to make rods and FF work...please
advice ..

also he asked me to get a 'Support Braket' from letus...I know this is to support the adapter but it costs too much..a
any idea where can I get a cheaper Support Braket....$50 + $10 for shipping for just a peice of bracket is little pricey for me..

-thanks
Vivek

If you are going to go with the indiFOCUSpro, I would actually suggest that you go with the package that costs $389 so that you have a geared system. The $299 package does not include the option to gear your lenses as it uses a friction wheel only. Some people have had success with this - I could not stand it and it is IMO not reliable as a precise follow focus.

You'll want to have one gear per lens with the indiFOCUS system. The gears are a bit of pain to install/reinstall on set, so you'll want to do it ahead of time and leave the gears on there. The 0.8 module pitch doesn't refer to the way the gear interfaces with the lens - it refers to they way the lens gear interfaces with the gear driver on the follow focus, so you need to pick a pitch and stick with it. The indiFOCUS pitch is some non-standard module, where as the "cine-pitch" standard is 0.8 module. There are other standards too, but you just need to decide between the regular indiFOCUS and 0.8 mod right now.

I wish I had a picture to illustrate this better. Maybe somebody out there does.

Also, sounds like you can't wait, but I will probably be selling my indiRAILS package around June 15th.

Will,

thanks a lot for the suggestion explaination.
I am getting a picture of it now thru your explaination. it is ineeded very helpful.

The things is I am leaving out for a shoot in another country on 16th June. I
can wait and get the rails from you . Since you are located in Hoboken and I am in Jersey City we are just a stop away. But the thing is if you happen to change your mind then I will not have time to get it then:) btw what will be your price and what is the condition of the rails..

Also please suggest about this support bracket? Can you suggest a work around with this ..$60 seems to be a bit high:(
