My Air Jordan Commercial

hey man, that was VERY WELL done, I enjoyed it a lot.

Sweet use of jump cuts and slow mo, made it look great.

Just curious offhand, for vimeo what output compressions do you use so you can output it to HD on their website and make it look good?
 
Thanks for the comments. This was fun to make. Probably the best crew I've worked with in a while.

ZZxk4 -- I use compressors HD-DVD h624 setting and make sure that the file size isn't over 500mb.

Man that was awesome. The one big thing I didn't like was the voice over which although very well done, I think it should have been from an older kid the age in the commercial. That or have the young v.o. with a younger kid. Perhaps take the volume down just on the extras when they come in with their couple words each..

Really good stuff.

I agree that the voice-over conflicts with a line from another actor.

By the way, which piano song is that?

I maybe felt a little conflict in the v.o., but I thought the voice, timing, script, and execution were solid.

Great work. The weight lifting cuts were spot on. VO worked for me, something different. Really thought the concept was spot on to what is recent with the Jordan spots.


Just watched it again and..... still like the VO.
 
Nicely done. I agree about the voice-over being such a young kid vs. the person we are watching. Now, if it was the dude's younger brother and we see him in the background watching his brother and aspiring to be like him, it could work.

I also agree with the voice over conflicting with the dialog of the actors, though I would do the opposite. Since they are all saying the same thing. I would lower their volume and keep them emphasis on the narrator. Though, it might not be a bad idea to shift the one line that overlaps the second actors line.

I believe the music is from Amelie the track is called : Comptine d'un autre été - L'après-midi - not sure what that translates as, something in the afternoon!

Very nice video - perfect tone for a thought provoking ad - although I agree that the kid should have been a little older sounding!

Nice work though! Makes me wanna upgrade my DVX! Keep it up! Fly!

Very, very nice idea. Just like there's generations of Air Jordan's there's generations of new kids getting them. Would make it even more moving.

Something like having the guy's little bro looking on from an empty grand stand (as his bro plays).
 
good job man. i agree about the voice over comments but i must admit i didnt feel it was out of place until i read the comments here. other than that, my focus was on the visual
