Premiere 2.0 Pro Renders/Exports

I normally use Sony Vegas and I recently bought a pack of muzzle flashes and what not from www.videocopilot.net and they just didn't function well in Vegas. I've had Premeire 2.0 pro for awhile but i never used it since I knew how to use Vegas. So I used Premeiere for the 2nd time this week(I Love it!) but there is a ton of things I haven't used enough to get thinngs done exactly how I want them.

So I finished this 7 minute short I did and I exported it as .mov and it was over 2.5 Gig So I set the "Quality" to 93% and I got it down to 1 gig. Also both times it was set to "Photo JPG" But I want it to be about 500MB.

Does anyone have any suggestions on some good rendering settings? I was going to do .wmv but when I rendered in Vegas the muzzle flashes moved slighty and the quality dropped on them. Will I have the same issue in Premiere if I render in .WMV

thanks for any info you can provide.

are you using adobe media encoder?

In that set up, you have more options. For DVD, I generally use MPEG 2. Not the best but easy to manage.

For web distribution, the way to go is h.264 Quicktime Pro. Export Microsoft Avi in Premiere with compressor set to None and compress in QTPro at about 1500 kb/s. For 7 minutes you can easily get it down to 40-50 mb.

Wow and it doesnt lose quality? Do i have to pay for QT Pro?

Yes there's virtually no quality loss. You do have to pay for QT Pro but for only $30 it's the best investment you'll ever make. h.264 really is quite an amazing codec.

is it pretty standard that if I wanted to post on Youtube it would go through or no? Or if I posted on my site people would be able to watch it without having to download a new codec.

premire and quicktime dont go well toghter i usualy export as uncompresed .avi and compress with sorrenson or cleaner.
