What's your day job?

I recently started a gig as a skiptracer for an automotive repossession company; I have a knack for finding people. I used to repo in my 20's but this go around I'm sticking to internal tracing.

Media Director at my local church full-time. Also started Praise Pictures Inc. last year in hopes of creating my first feature which we are shooting in just over a week. Also any odd jobs I get in web design/graphics/FX, etc. etc.

Not bad for 20. Can't wait to see what the next decade has in store.

I'm a fulltime editor with Fox Business and Fox News. I did a lot of freelance camera work, on set stuff and animation but I get more work editing so thats what pays the bills. I'm trying to work on personal projects now.

woah I'm amazed at how many programmers are here, I'm finishing up my masters (advanced computer science), but I'm also a freelance Programmer (mostly boring commerical applications), and freelance 3d artist.

For all those Data warehouse guys, I'm planning on developing my own mini data mining app (C4.5 and ANN) PM if your interested.

Hey all. Interesting thread indeed.
Owner of a business here in Japan. Different sections: Staff placement, English tuition and our latest: event production (yay!). My previous job entailed some video production and sound design (which is still a passion of mine). Really want to film some more and am about a 1/3 of the way through my first screenplay...it's my first so I am totally prepared for it to suck but hey, that's what we are here at DVXUser for, to learn right?
Anyways, it's an honor to be a part of such a sharing community.
Thank you.
Sam.

I own a small fleet of 4 taxis here in Kingston, Ontario. Can't stand the business most of the time but it pays the bills. I also do paid sports video work for Queen's University. It started off as just doing their end of the year sport banquet video but they keep asking for more. This year I did a national commercial for them that aired 6 times on The Score, as well as all the video for a weekly sports show for the local station but aired nationally on satelite. It was only a 15 min per week segment but is going to a full half hour next year. The other day they asked me to produce an extensive set of training videos for the web for them so it all seems to be picking up steam. Nothing glamorous though, it's starting to feel like work!

i call myself a stay at home dad. but most people would probably identify me as just unemployed.

I work for a Broadcast News systems integrator, and my daily job consists of breaking and fixing expensive stuff.

I work as a contractor to NASA, maintaining refrigerator sized computer systems with thousands of users around the world, connected to massive networked storage systems for the international space station, and write a lot of scripts as a system administrator to keep things ticking. I'm just starting a production company "in my spare time" and finishing up pre-pro on my first feature, where I'll be using an andromeda system.

I just graduated college from SDSU

I've been working as a contractor for Imagination Entertainment as their video technician.

At night I wait tables at Applebee's.

Every now and then I get a wedding gig.

That actually sounds pretty cool. What do you have running on those refrigerators? I have an old DEC AlphaServer the size of a mini-fridge sitting next to me at home and it's running OpenVMS. :)

I take back all the bad things I've said and thought about you. Well, most of them anyway. RepoMan!!!

Question: Is it true that a Repoman is "Always intense"?

Mike Nesmith Rawks!

They're newer medium & large scale systems - racks of 'em. Primarily Solaris 10. (Im a long time UNIX guy). Does it still work? 9-track tape with 75GB disk drives in pull out drawers on bottom (heavy - huge)? Your electric bill has to be pretty high!!! What do you use it for?

Back from Memorial day...

For me I work at a University as an enrollment specialist (4 years now), teach photography classes at the local community college, and do freelance event photography.

Actually, all that was true befor I got engaged. Now my job is to write checks and agree to whatever new 'brilliant' wedding idea people throw at me regarding our "special" day.
