Still learning the settings, getting used to the upgrade from my old DVC30.

Would you guys say that the dynamic range has changed at all? Or is it just the noise that's gone coupled with higher sensitivity?

heyy thats not nice....

but regardless, that screenshot you put up there, that was me messing up in the rendering stage, thats 1080i footage cropped in, so its not the full resolution.

I also had detail coring and detail levels brought up a lot, testing them out.

Well, yea, but I am talking about the dynamic range which wouldn't be affected by detail, just the Master Pedestal... right? Anyone wanna chime in?
 
I really doubt the Dynamic Range has increased but who knows? Let someone else with more technical prowess test that out.

I will say that the "useable" range is higher because the noise is nowhere near as dramatic asit wasbefore.
 
Yes, that's exactly what I am talking about Kholi. Like you said and also showed us is that without the grain it does help to be able to use lower exposure without getting the grain.
But like you just said. Actual dynamic range is something else and it would be interesting to see if it has changed at all.

I was mindlessly searching DVXuser (like usual) clicked your link, didn't even notice your name in the title, and then realized it was you and nick in the video lol

So how do you like the camera? What adapter were you looking at again?
 
I'm also interested to know about the dynamic range, because to me it seems I'm able to increase exposure on the canon a1 further then the hvx200a before I start to get zebras. can anyone chime in about this, as this will make my decision on weather I'll be sending the hvx200a back to b&h in replace of another canon a1.
 
Brendan, whats up man? I got the HVX200A about 6 days ago, on Wednesday.

I committed and finally got the upgraded camera I wanted, from my OLD DVC30 I was using, lol.

But, I'm looking into Redrock micro for my 35mm adapter, just because I like what I have seen from it.

I'll be getting that later in August though I believe.

More test footage coming soon. You got AIM? My name on here is the same as my AIM, send me a message if you get the time.
