Indiana Jones 4

I need to stop reading reviews...

SPOILER ALERT!!

SPOILER ALERT!!

(highlight)
indy passes his hat over ... to mutt.. like the guy from last crusade. *sigh*

lukewarm review from what I've seen.

I might wait for cheap theater run.

edit: Man, now I am seeing some nasty reviews like The Chicago Tribune review.

These kinda bursted my bubble, since alot of these reviewers are usually pretty easy or forgiving on movies like this.

Makes me wonder if some of the positive reviews are exercising a little pity because of the love for Raiders.

I shouldn't be surprised, but I am a little disappointed.

It's 77 percent right now at Rotten Tomatoes, which is pretty good...You and I know you'll be there opening day like the rest of us shmucks. And that Tribune guy's an idiot. Ebert gave it 3 and a Half stars out of four.

rottentomatoes wont tell you what is a good movie, only what is a BAD movie. Since they only catagorize reviews into "positive" and "negative", even the most luke warm "eh" goes into the positive pile.

So even a movie getting a 95% means 95% of reviews might be "eh" and 5 percent "total garbage". Although if a movie has a 12% rating, that means 88% of reviewers are saying "Don't see this movie".

Regardless, I was excited to see Indy until I saw the trailer. I think it looks absolutely brutal. Everyone else i know wants to see it, so I guess I'm going, and who knows I might like it, but jeeze does it look bad.

My biggest fear all along has been that it would be some silly fun family film; designed by Lucas to maximze profit from merchandise

Unfortunately, it's up to me to create the next great action hero.

I don't know, perhaps Lucas is jealous of Speilberg? The career he wished he had? While I think Lucas likes to be known for Star Wars I think he would like to be known for something more than JUST star wars. In the way Speilberg has Jaws, E.T. , Jurrasic Park etc. Speilberg in the end is more known than Lucas for Indiana Jones than Lucas himself. The creator of the Indy.

Maybe it's just me, but if you asked the general moving going public if they knew what George Lucas did BESIDES star wars - I don't think they'd know.

I got to see it, it's not as bad as the critics paint it. It's an Indiana Jones action movie, I don't know what they were expecting. It opens very strong, but seems to lose itself a bit by the end. Not before you get to see the coolest mushroom cloud I've ever seen in cinema, however.

They handled the aging Indy very well, but I would agree it's "some silly fun family film; designed by Lucas to maximze profit from merchandise." But how are you supposed to make Indiana Jones IV without merchandising? If this weren't part of the Indiana Jones franchise, it would be just another B- summer blockbuster.

Januz Kaminsky outdid himself again. There were large portions of the movie that were reminiscent of Casablanca, except in beautiful pastel color. And the camera movement in the opening sequence is amazing, dodging and weaving in and around cars, switching subjects effortlessly.

It's worse that that, he's known as the guy who ruined Star Wars with a bunch of muppets and prequels.

CONSENSUS: Harrison Ford's return as Indiana Jones is more than welcome.

If most the CRITICS overall actually like it (I'm surprised, I thought critics would bash it no matter HOW good it was), most Indy fans will be sure to like it. I loved what I've seen from the trailers - every clip makes me like it more, it seems very true to the originals. I can't wait.

I'm going to see it tomorrow after school. Hope it is awesome. BTW please put spoiler alert if your going to reveal parts of the story in the next couple days. That would be helpful to people who haven't seen it yet and don't want to know the story.
