(please note that I have nothing to do with the above link and cannot vouch for the experience or talent of the operator who shot the sample footage, but i do reccommend viewing the "part 2" of his test footage where he appears to have balanced the rig better. Also the item for sale is a series II and not a IIa )

For the cost, I have had nothing but love for this setup since I purchased it, and I am only selling it because my chances of using it again are very slim as I recently injured myself and will not likely be able to do the "steadi-cam-shuffle" (operate a camera stabilizer) for a long long time ..if ever again. If your looking for a great low cost rig to start out on that performs as well or better than some higher priced gear, this is a great option that you might want to jump on.

I have this rig. Just shot a music video with it. It ROCKS.

Just make sure you've got enough weight on the bottom. Initially I couldn't get it quite 'right' then it occurred to me it was designed to be used with a battery and monitor attached to the bottom. For the HVX and a wide-angle lens (if you're feeling lazy) a new roll of 2" gaffe tape placed over the main shaft worked absolutely perfect. Any criticism I had of it was gone after that little discovery.

Anyway, as far as bang for the buck goes it's like getting a new Z06 for the price of a Camry.

The guy who makes them is still around. I've got a low mode on order. He's not particularly fast at getting stuff out but he's still making parts as far as I know.

If you're looking for one of these things BUY IT. That price is practically giving it away for as good as it is.

yeah, you definitely have to balance any stabilizer rig properly or it will be tippy when you change speed /direction, and will get squirrily on you. Ive shot alot of stuiff on the rig balanced wonderfully since I purchased it, and have alot of beautifully complex shots that i couldve posted rather than pointing to his ok test footage, but im a busy guy and dont have time to make a demo video just to sell something :)

..i didnt know that he was still making things as I couldnt find the site but its good to hear :)
