kata hb207 tripod holder question

Forgive me if this is the wrong place for this thread, I didn't know where else to put it. I just picked up a Kata hb207 pack for my hvx thats on the way and I can't figure out how to properly mount the tripod holder to the side of the bag, only the center. The included instructions show it on the BP502 which clearly has a different setup. All the photos I've seen online of the 207 show the tripod tucked into the side pocket which seems kinda sketchy since its half mesh. With all that said, how do you properly mount the tripod holder to the side of the bag?
 
I own the HB-205 (the same bag without the extra top and laptop pockets)
The tripod holder only fits properly on the back, not the side

If you mount the holder to the side of the bag, you can't actually open the bag up fully (due to using a back loop and the base of the shoulder strap)
 
I own the 207 and concur with what MasterP has stated. I have used the side pocket to store a Gitzo tripod and it works well as long as you can balance the weight. I usually add some sort of hydration pack to the other side.
 
Ok thats the conclusion I came to as well, just thought I'd ask in case I was missing something really obvious. Thanks guys.
