Cinevate's "Proteus" Carbon Rails System

Thanks Aram. Once again you've provided us with potential T-shirt material with that "micro-collimininimantiotion thing". We'll see what we can do with regard to tabs, or better still, an external adjustment. This is a one-time adjustment for most folks and should be done carefully...so consequently we've made it something that a casual user would not inadvertently change.

all this new gear you guys are coming out with is making me want to sell my redrock system... I just ordered some of your carbon rods, now I just need the rest!

I'm assuming the Proteus rails work well with other adapters, correct? In particular, I'm looking at the HVX200 and Lexus Extreme. If so, looks like a buy to me.

I honestly have not tested it personally, but I'd be 99% certain it would work just fine. I"m pretty sure that configuration has been confirmed already by one of our forum posters.

As long as you have the letus support bracket, you should be able to use the proteus rails no prob.

I think so... I think you can buy it in pieces like that from their site if I remember correctly. It'll cost you more than buying it as a package deal though.

Maybe you could buy the whole kit and save a bit, and then sell whichever of your rails that you like the least :)

Later,
Jason

Next time I see Kwan we will set up the rails with his Letus flip. I think Mike got rid of his SG type adapter but I will see if I can find another box type to show.

Dennis, is the shoulder mount system pad suppose to be included w/ the rails system? Or to get it to work fully like a shoulder mount, it'll be a separate purchase? Just wondering if there's any reason to hold off purchasing.

SO I'm the now the new proud owner of a Brevis Mp1 and the Proteus Rails System. Very impressive and I'm loving the solid feel of it. You guys do an awesome job.

One of the first things I did however after setting up the Proteus on the rails was consider how I wanted the camera mounted. While the camera is likely to stay on the railes 95% of the time I considered the need to take it off on occasion for travel, etc. So to that end I attached a manfrotto quick release system to the top of the Proteus and now my camera slides on and off quickly and efficiently.

Have you considered making one of those attachments part of the package? While setting up it made moving the camera so much easier than if it had been mounted directly to the Proteus system.

I've thought of the same thing for mine, wouldn't be a bad idea, but if cinevate bundled it, it would probably just jack the price up.

Good point. i suppose the best way is just for users to individually buy them. That way they're not restricted to one particular plate... Oh well it was just a thought on how to make a great product perhaps a little cooler.

With the quick release system, I'm actually able to use one of the open holes at the side to mount my monitor instead of having in on the camera or on the rails. pretty neat.

Just setting it up and getting everything ready, I'm totally loving it. Especially with no more dodgy ground glass issues. :D Now I gotta convince my wife to let me buy some more accessories for it...

You use the Brevis as well right Takeshi?

D, the shoulder system will be a separate package. We're working on the grips right now to go with the pad :-)

Make the grips different colors!!! and with tassels hanging off like the old school bikes.

funny: I was recently considering taking a jig saw to a tricycle and try to cobble together my own shoulder support system... that picture takes the cake
