this may have already been said but i think a lot of us see films and then ask ourselves "how did this guy get to make a movie" and then automatically make the assumption that "he had to know someone."

i think adam has shown us how those people make movies. i don't think any of us ever could have imagined the sheer desire it takes to make a movie of this stature. especially by yourself.

pretty freaking incredible story.

Thanks guys. It is a 14 day shoot that began on April 26th. We did day 8 today, a 12.5 hour day. More or less on schedule.

Yes, we shot 500GB in one week.

Super Louie probably knows the settings better than I do. We are using Bpress and a little bit of a modified FILMIC scene file.

I chose B press because much of the film is in low light.

No kidding? I was hoping to meet him while he was in Japan:(

In any case, I suspect you are burning both ends of the candle so I won't ask any questions until after but let me just wish you the very best for the remaining shoot time.

Sam.

Adam, I seem to remember you mentioned way back in the thread that you plan to use Vegas in post. I am a huge fan of Vegas and have been using it as my NLE of choice for quite a while now. I've been an editor for 10 years or so, and Vegas suits the way I work to a T.

I look forward to more people choosing Vegas, as it needs more recognition (mostly because I want more plugins made for it!). If you are indeed planning on using Vegas for this shoot, do you plan on "upgrading" to something else for the second film you intend to make?

Do you have a crew member who's only job duties are to transfer material onto a hard drive?

I looks like, if you read siniarchs last post he talks about Chris the loader whose duty is to donwload all the data from the P2 to hard drives.

Yeah, guys, there is a loader. I mess around with him during lunch and he has gotten so much more on point. Lesson, be nice to you loaders and they will run to get you a new card. :)

Chris is a nice kid, and doing great for his first feature. :)

Hi all,

Just catching up reading a great thread...

Adam C...

Fantastic....

Loads of questions... Will re-read to see if I have holes.

Great stuff.

great thread amazing story i came upon it last night and finished up reading around 4am, this is better than RR rebel without a crew, very inspiring. I hope your final product turns out to ten bag 100 times over.

Dan - the elusive ten bagger. A phrase common in the business world that means netting 10x your initial investment.

By the way, when are you coming down next????????

Ten Bagger. A ten bagger is that lucrative investment where you wind up netting ten times your investment. Wealthy people love to put money in places they think will give them huge gains.

Your avatar is from the "kitty cat" moment in "Chinatown" when director Roman Polanski does his cameo and cuts Nicholson's nose, who wears a bandage on it for the rest of the film. Classic...

haha.... of course, when Jack changes his avatar (which happens as often as I change my socks!), your post will make no sense! Or people will think that you have no clue.

So, just because we Ted's need to look out for each other... I will post his avatar photo in my post so that the generations of dvxusers that read this thread understand what you were referring to!!!
