Jennifer Aniston's New Movie - HVX sighting

Hey all!

I work part time at Dolphin Stadium in the video department, and the other night during the Marlins game, a small crew came with Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson to shoot a quick scene for their new film "Marley and Me".

They shot the scene during an inning break in which they have to chase the dog onto the field as it goes after a baseball. I think it was for a montage scene of some sorts because of the quick run and gun setup and the couple minute window.

However, the crew was shooting the scene with 2 HVX200 cameras, stock lenses and no other attachments.

I am curious to see how this footage turns out on the big screen. I was disappointed with how blurry Sarah Landon looked, however I suspect poor video to film transfer. This film being an A list Hollywood movie will definitely be processed properly so it'll be interesting to get another view of how the HVX will look on the big screen and it's feels nice to know that Hollywood is using the same camera I am. Makes me feel even better about my purchase :)

Sarah Landon also utilized adapter footage so this should be considerably sharper.

thanks for the heads up. :D

Oh yes, I know Sarah Landon used the Red Rock, however in all of the web, and TV spots, as well as a promo on the theater big screen from a digital projecter, the movie looked very sharp. It was when I saw it from the film reel it looked fuzzy, and my suspicions are that a lot of the sharpness was lost during the transfer.

However you are correct, the images should be sharper just by removing the adapter alone.

I am personally curious to see how well this matches the other footage from the film, because it was just the stock camera, no lights, reflectors, lens adapaters, matte box, nothing. Should be a good test to see what the naked camera is capable of doing and how it looks on the big screen :)

I've been using my adapter less and less because I feel the footage is not that sharp.

My question is, 'Is the Red-rock really even HD quality' is it the cheap construction and components that are leaving us with sub-par resolution. (I ordered the HD version too.)
