Cleaning Hvx Tape Head With A Canon Dvm-cl Head Cleaning Cassette (wont Play... Help)

I Started Seeing Blue Lines On And Off Over The Footage When I Would Play It Back, I Figured It Was A Dirty Tape Head, I Read Some And Asked Around, Ended Up Going Down To I-a-v, Where I Got The Hvx From, They Sent Me Home With A Canon Head Cleaning Cassette, I Dont Know Much About The Different Lubes, And If It Matters With Cleaning Tapes, They Told Me It Didnt Matter, It Wont Play In The Hvx Though So I Figured I Should Ask About It.

Help Please!!!

Thanks

I'm not sure who makes the cleaning tapes for Canon but we have always recommended that either Panasonic or JVC cleaners be used for the HVX200. The tape should only be played for about 5-10 seconds. You won't have anything on the picture. Then put a 60 mintute blank tape in the camera and fast forward it all the way to the end of the tape and then rewind it again all the way to the beginning of the tape. Then make a quick recording to see if that fixes the clog.

Best regards,

Andrew Hoffman
