Best Nikon Lens for Letus Extreme

Greetings all... I just got the Letus Extreme. Could anyone recommend the best one or two Nikon lenses based upon experience. Thanks.

Does anybody know what 35mm lens would have to be mounted to get a wider angle of view than the stock lens?

probably 17mm ish.

The wide end of the Ex1 is about 20mm on Super 35 4-perf (31mm on still 35 8-perf) but there is some image cropping on the adapters so a wider lens than 20mm is needed.

Anyone done any real world tests on the crop factor for the various adapters?

Thanks for that info, Matthew. That sounds about right. It appears that the stock lens has roughly a 90 degree angle of view which would put it into the 20 to 24mm focal length of 35mm camera lenses. However, since we are talking about a 16:9 frame on the EX1 vs. a 2:3 ratio for horizontally-moving/oriented 35mm film apertures, I wasn't good enough at math to do the calculations.

The spending never ends, huh?

4 perf AR is 4:3 and 8 perf is 3:2.

But just look at the horizontal dimension to do the comparisons - 4 perf is just under 24mm and 8 perf is 36mm. Lens focal length ratios between 8 and 4 perf are 1.5:1

"35mm equivalents" as listed in manufacturer specs are always quoted for 8-perf still format. So divide that lens focal length by 1.5 to get the Super 35 4 perf equivalent.
