gunna sell my HVX-200 no card and under 30-40 hs on the tape drive, great condition, if you are interested in buying it around the 170's release date then PM me for a deal

What is a USED HVX200 going for, and what does a NEW HVX200a go for?
I might trade mine in ay B@H or something.

Is the 170 the same quality footage at the HVX200a?
JG: Same, but with a lot more features

Is the 170 cheaper or more expensive?
JG: Guesses are that the 170 will be slightly lower. No official # yet or whether it will include a P2 card.

JG

And maybe there is an argument for some of us for waiting for the HXP170a or HPX270 or whatever they call it!

I work on the 'skip a generation' principal with upgrades...one ends up with a far more significant upgrade down the track, maximises the use of the existing tool and also saves some money in the process!

When you consider the footage will in general be similar it is probably wiser for some of us to invest in such things as better mics, lights and bigger P2 cards.

But then I don't earn my main daily bread with the HVX...so I can understand those that do making the jump.

Aside from one having tape and the other all P2, what the improvements for the 200A vs 170?

Does the 200A have wider lens and SDI?
The 200A has about 30.5mm compared to 32.5mm with 200.

The 170 has a HD-SDI
