We went to the screening last night and had a blast (free beer), and, for the first time in my filmmaking career (first time ever, possibly), we took first place in a festival. It was a 24 hour film competition where they gave us a set of ingredients (a series of props, a background theme, a specific newspaper bin and a line from an old movie), which was actually really difficult. We came up with the idea of a '50's style instructional video and just went to town. Started Saturday morning at 9am, finished Sunday morning at 6am, and last night won first prize!

It's not the most visually interesting shot-wise, I know, but I was aiming for the style of those old films, locked down tripod shots, lots of straight-ahead and slightly-angular shots, etc. I was sort of disappointed I couldn't do anything "cool" with it, but I'm still stoked!
