For sale is an LG GGC-H20L Blu-Ray/HD-DVD Reader and DVD Writer: specs and info right here. Drive was purchased new, installed, and promptly removed--mistakenly thought it was a BD Writer, which it is not. However, it is a fast DVD writer, is SATA, and has LightScribe.

does it burn regular dvds as well and can be connected to mac book pro?

also does it playback hd/blu-ray dvds?
 
It burns CDs and regular red-laser DVDs (DVD-/+R, single layer, dual layer, and RW). It plays back all of the above, as well as HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. However, it DOES NOT burn HD-DVD or Blu-Ray--it's a reader ONLY for those two formats.

I suppose it could be connected to a MBP, but this is an internal drive, so you'd have to find a suitable external drive chassis to mount it in, and then connect it to your laptop.

can i connect this to my home theatre system?

and its not up conversion or anything like that but full 1080p
