Is there a fix to this??

I just did some test shots with the HVX200 using the FS-100. The HVX was set to 1080i/24pA, the FS-100 set to record Quicktime PN. I recorded about 11 minutes of footage. Connected the FS-100 to my powerbook G4, set FS-100 to "DDrive" and the FS-100 mounted. In the directory were my footage was, I noticed it was divided into 5 ".avi" files. I figure shooting in 1080i/24pa the files were kind of large and that had something to do with the dividing.

My problem is what do I do when I want to import my footage into FCP6..... I would want to import the "11 minute file" for editing and not pieces of it. How can I fix this problem? I would like to have one file to import. Has this happened to anyone?
thanks for the help.

Not certain what you are doing here, but pn doesn't work with 1080i/24pA.

Shoot to QuickTime.

My understanding is that FCP will stitch those clips together upon import, but I can't test it because I don't shoot the format

ok... haven't tried to import yet...... With the HVX set to record 1080i/24pA and the FS-100 set to Quicktime pn, it does record into the FS-100, it also chops it into chunks.... I'll try to import to FCP.

Set it to QuickTime, not QT PN.

The Firestore does not record a 1080i/24pA PN because the HVX200 doesn't record that.

Yes your right I recorded 1080i/24p on the HVX, but even at Quicktime vs Quicktime pn it still would chop up the file I think.

I believe you are going to have this problem shooting to QT rather than mxf.

It is very convenient to shoot in QT format. The only problem is that the current software will segment the clips and you will need to reassemble segmented clips manually (that will be clips over 2:16 in anything but 24p native or 2.5 times that for other HD formats). While MXF files are also segmented, the FS-100 can span those clips.

Ok... Thanks Dave....... I'm going to do more test shots to come up up with a shooting-import/transfer-edit workflow thats ideal for me.
BTW any 3rd party software you'd recommend to help work with this.
