BIG news from Letus!

Sounds great though like others I will have to decide whether to take the plunge price wise. P+S has been owned the market for a long time however with what I consider a poor performing behemoth.

I'm a little unclear about the $4500 for the adapter and $4500 for the relay.
Is the relay for every camera, or is that just a B4 relay. Likewise will this adapter work both on small cameras and on a B4.

I'll definitely be stopping by next week.

Will this be on display along with the B4 relay?

The Adapter will work on the same cameras as the Extreme, just about the same body which is pretty awesome.

The relay is for B4 mounts as far as I know. I don't think it's interchangeable but you may want to inquire about that at the Zacuto NAB booth.

Even at $4500 I don't think this solves the indi market's need for a sub $10k do it all machine capable of providing an alternative to the film look. I've said it before, I would possibly consider a sub $3k adapter but even then you're talking double the current adapter price. I think SG has some good additions releasing soon along with cinevate at a major fraction of this price. I think we are only a spinning glass alternative in the Brevis/Letus and a better light loss SG away from some great adapters.

Okay okay okay. I'll post pictures of this thing from the show floor on Monday at 9 a.m.! Kholi... will you upload them if I send them to your address?

Interesting, just about what many are speculating the Scarlet might cost. Will it have film-like DOF? Well, if it does, is 2k, S16 or S35 and we all now know is going to record RAW, most likely to CF cards, then the adapter market might suffer a huge blow.

not necessarily. It all really depends on the individuals needs. Scarlet might turn out to be a mini-RED with no handle or anything! 2K to CF cards is quite data-costly FYI. Think of how difficult it is with P2 cards. I think it might have the capability but will definitely have some sort of proprietary RED-mini drives for the thing

Red is already churning out their own cards and third party producers are ready for the challenge. P2 is a Panasonic proprietary technology. CF cards are widely used in the market for photography. The only difference might be the speed.

That's a huge maybe on Scarlet affecting the adapter industry.

RAW is no joke. There's still no decent workflow for RED ONE (although it's coming) and you'll have to consider the types of peripherals you'll need to run a SCARLET. Batterties, etc.

I'm still skeptical of it being much at all, but we all found out soon.

do the red's raw files allow you to change exposure settings like a raw file from a digital SLR? If so that would be pretty amazing stuff.

and at $4,500 will this sucker be dust free?!

I don't want to be Mickey Mousing with it like my previous 3 Letus models.....

Mm interesting.

Since its spinning I was expecting a more boxy shape. Since letus and SGpro use the same flip unit, You would think a spinning letus and flip unit would look fairly similar to the SGpro....

Pretty much what I expected it to look like since they said it was the same size/shape as the EX. I figured it would just implement a smaller spinning glass vs redrock or SG. I still can't get over the price though. I know this is a prototype but the build quality and materials will likely need to improve from what I see in the pics. Philip talk him down to about $2500-$3k ;)

that price range would be doable. after selling the current letus, it would just be like buying a new one... grrrr lol

I think Zacuto "home of the $90 hex bolt" is having something to do for it being $4500. I have a strong feeling that Hien is going to be the OEM manufacturer for Zacuto on this Letus Ultimate.
