New blowout pricing. MUST MOVE!

crobs, Spec hasn't responded to your posts we have, there is no need to attack him. if the dealler you bought from is for real, that do us all a favor and let us know their website?

haha, wrong. the seller opens the box, removes the 16gb p2 card or whatever p2 card is inside, and sells it separately and i still get a brand new hvx200 for cheap. thanks for the concern though, but i was able to register it with panasonic usa, and i bought a 4yr warranty where i can get it fixed at any panasonic authorized retailer (circuit city, best buy, etc...) for free. panasonic confirmed this over the phone when i registered it, and gave them the serial number, but thanks anyway for the scary link, lol.

You got to be kidding me .... I don't think anybody at Circuit City or Best Buy even knows what a HVX200 is .

Rob

Sorry, if you think that you "can get it fixed at any panasonic authorized retailer (circuit city, best buy, etc...) for free" you're going to be in for a surprise when the time comes.

Also, Panasonic does not offer warranty coverage like the one you described on the HVX200, so you're looking at a third-party policy and Panasonic doesn't have to send you squat -- you'll have to fight someone else to get a new camera.

hell, i damn sure dont have no panasonic warranty that sweet and i bought mine brand new :)

i was beginning to think i got jipped on my warranty for a second.

THoff, I think we are simple dealing with a troll, perhaps we should just ignore him, and you're correct bestbuy nor circuit city are hvx repair centers.

these arent blowout prices...i just got a brand new FS100 from Adorama for 1500 shipped (been their price for the last 6 months), and a HVX200 from an authorized dealer for $3700 shipped + $450 for a full 4-yr 100% warranty (means if they cant fix it within 14 days, you get a brand new HVX from Panasonic USA).

sorry, i just hate seeing something called "blowout pricing" and tuns out to be 10-20% more than the current competition

I have to agree with you there connor. I really hate seeing stuff like this. If you're going to do a "Blowout Deal" then be legit about it. Don't let people look at your company in a bad way.

we can't all get lucky and find a rich 19year old who has pissed his mother off by knocking up his girlfriend and is forced to sell off all his toys.

I don't believe he's a troll, I just think he is naïïve (no offense) and inexperienced. I wish him well and hope that he doesn't come to regret some of the decisions he's made.

at least he has a serial number, mine doesn't have one of those. being gray market and used, and the text on the eye cup is in some asian text. but it still rocks, made my money back and then some, shot my film, and several other projects on it so who cares, one think I would like to know, I do rent it out, but I travel with it, I'd like to find an insurance company that will insure it, as its used with no sn I'm unsure I can find one. if anyone has any ideas.

Jason

I bought an hvx200 off of ebay brand new in the box for about 3,900. I never got a free 16gb p2 card though! Did I get ripped off? It came with a case and bag and a stupid light but no 16gb p2 card!

I think this train of thoughts been hijacked, derailed, no survivors.

so back to topic

Andrew, are all the prices firm?

Jason

They have a legit Serial number so I don't see why not. Generally it's not an issue. We have our technicians at our Authorized Service Center go through the B-Stock cameras VERY carefully and they only submit them to the sales department if they are top notch. So what I'm getting at, is that they are already tested for defects which is what the warranty covers in the first place. Let me know if you want to make an offer. 1-800-359-1858

um, #1 - Jason Ramsey, i have one username - crobs808, what are you even talking about multiple usernames???

#2 - ive already called and dealt with panasonic usa, given them my serial number, registered it and everything. they said the typical warranty, for the type i got is 699, so i got a good deal at $450 for 4 years. They confirmed that the 14 day fix-it-or-replace-it, policy has only bene in effect since November 2007, but all hvx200's purchards after that date from 3rd party dealers were eligible for that kind of warranty. Since I had a legit USA model serial number, there is no problem.

I dont see why you guys are getting mad at me, that I got a good deal...plus, let's get back on topic, this was about the fake "blowout"...stop talking about me, lol.

crobe88 you're making clames that we do not believe, I.e. we think your har lying to us, we've asked you over and over again, where you bought it and you have not answered.

Jason

time2envy has you call them to confirm your order, have you called and confirmed?

the reason I'm asking is that's usually when they tack on the extra $300 shipping/insurance/warranty/etc... fee.

Before I got my hvx from another ebay seller I tried going thru T2E and was verbally assaulted over the phone only to have my order cancelled after I calmly questioned the required "shipping insurance". The guy blew up on me. I wouldn't recommend these guys!!!

yep, they called and confirmed, and they dont upsell ebay purchases. they cant. you have already paid thru paypal, so they cant upsell. they only upsell if you call in to buy, or buy from their site. just buy off ebay, and they will give you a call, but all he said was "is this the correct address...(listed my address)....we verify addresses on high end orders", i said yes, then he said "ok, this will ship out tomorrow", hang up. i got it 4 days later.

PS - to the guy who whined about the firewire, i got what is called a p-clamp (wraps around the corner of the camera, avoiding the headphone jack), it holds your firewire in the camera, and made specifically for hvx/fs100 users on the go. never comes out, doesnt even budge :)

I think you're contradicting yourself.. you said you purchased a $400 warranty in another thread. Who exactly did you purchase this warranty from?

In any case, there is absolutely no way they didn't try and upsell, because I myself purchased an HVX from them through paypal and they gave me the run around with shipping insurance and warranty fees. You think they just pick and choose who they want to try an bamboozle or upsell to? I think you should care more for providing the truth of the matter to the forums rather then making your own argument look better.

And actually these crooklyn dealers are allowed to do whatever they want, and if you question them they'll just cancel your order. There's nothing in paypal or ebay that implicitly states that a buyer can't ask for additional fees. I complained about T2E's methods myself and got nowhere and I'm an eBay powerseller. All you can do is create a dispute that says you and the seller disagreed on shipping terms.

Unfortunately, there is no way to actually get an HVX for less than $3,900 through these crooklyn dealers because they will always find a way to charge you that missing 300 to 400 dollars depending on the auction price. I have a very hard time believing that you somehow found a way to trick these guys into sending you the HVX for the actual auction price, when there are plenty of examples on eBay on the sellers feedback of T2E adding on additional fees to make the HVX 3,900-4,000.

No, I did pay $400 for a 4 year warranty, from T2E, but the camera by itself with the built in 1-yr warranty was $3699. They said "Ok thanks, that's all we needed", and were going to hang up when I asked about the warranty. He said it came with the manufacturers 1-yr, but they didn't upsell me until I asked about available warranties. So I paid $4,100 in all, but that's still over $1,000 cheaper than any other competition...I mean $100 a year for free fixing unlimited times at a local Bestbuy or CurcuitCity is fine with me. Plus, if they cant fix it in 14 days, I get a brand new HVX200 from Panasonic USA for free. Already called Panasonic USA and confirmed/registered everything with serial number and all, so it's all legit.

Time2Envy is a good company. Most of the people who say they have issues with them must be taking a tone or getting all mad on the phone from the get go. If you don't "act" suspicious, then you'll get what you want. $4100 with 4 yr warranty is fine with me.

Keep in mind the only reason T2E cancelled my order is because I refused to pay for a warranty and questioned their "Shipping Insurance" fee.

where did you buy your hvx?

(4th time same question is asked)

Yea,

I looked up Time 2 Envy and they aren't authorized by Panasonic.

This is what I found in their description:

Time2Envy.com strives to always offer the latest products and the best price possible on all products. Often cameras are released overseas before they make it to the US market. Time2Envy.com, through special connections has the ability to get electronics to market in the US before they are officially released in to market. We also at times have the ability to offer the international versions of products that are currently sold in the US at steep discount prices. The international models are identical to the US models, but they do not come with a US warranty. IF AN ITEM IS IMPORTED, IT WILL BE CLEARLY STATED IN THE AUCTION. We offer a one-year in-house warranty on imported goods at a nominal cost. We also offer extended warranties at very competitive prices (through manufacturer authorized repair centers) on all products we sell.

Warranties sold through manufacturer authorized repair centers such as Best buy and Circuit City aren't going to apply to the HVX200. There were only five service centers including our own sent to the Panasonic headquarters in New Jersey to receive specialized training to repair HVX200s and we (the five of us) were the only Panasonic ASCs authorized to repair them while under warranty.

Thank you to everyone here for the support.

The truth is out there... :)
