Why are so many SG Pro's for sale recently?

No two HVX's are the same. If you use a bunch of different HVX's you will have an inconsistent parameter.

Hi Guys,

The SGblade will be a seperate vibrating adapter, not an upgrade or replacement for the SGpro. Indeed, the SGpro will continue to be our main product.

The SGpro and SGblade will have different advantages. The SGpro as always is designed towards the best image quality possible with the best bokeh rendition.

The Blade is being designed to offer a compact, lightweight solution focusing on low lightloss.

The Blade will be easily connected to the flip module which I beleive will be the most compact flipped adapter out there which is ideal for run and gun style. This gives SGpro flip owners the option to have an SGblade on hand should the need or shooting style call for it. It also uses the same lens mounts as the SGpro so no need to double up on mounts - money saved!

We will be offering the blade at around $500 which was one of our main goals. With the price of adapter solutions rising slowing we want to offer a solution to those on a budget.

The prototype version has made us very excited. Drawings have been submitted for a final production sample which should arrive soon.

Stay tuned :)

Well knoli, we will try are best to calibrate them all to be the same.... If not we will just set up a lighted set and shoot with the same cam threw all the adapter, the Red1 and 35mm camera are going to be there to compare how close these adapters come to the "real" thing, which one yields closest image... hopefully everyone will come out for this... The only maybe is the Letus Ex, they guy is La based and he hopefully can make it. Wayne the Blade sounds awesome!

... As far as all the Sg coming up for sale all in the same day is simple, They are all Tim followers....lol, seriously the SgPro is an awesome adapter and the REV.3 is perfectly fine.....

Blade+scarlet.....ohhhhhh
Cheers,
Jon

I'll be back in the camp. Just needed a good flip today.

re: Blade. Wayne. What stop and shutter limits will this have?
Any possibility of a spinning shutter with less light loss?

It was a sad day when PS technik ditched the spinning shutter for vibrating. You can't take that above 1/125th with out artifacts. But they did manage less light loss.

Is there a connection between light loss and spinning vs vibrating?

It never was in the first place... Its no longer a vibrating adapter, its a spinner like the M2 and the original SGpro.

Any news on the Sgblade?

You can go to the website and they have a form discussing about the Blade.
looks like they are going to sell it around $2000.(for evrything)

If you want the film look and you choose the same GG that they use in the SGpro. I don't see the point to pay $2000 for the same image qulity as the SGpro tho....

My SGpro with the flip unit was about that much. The blade is just a more compact and up to date version. The blade isn't a replacement for he SGpro, its another option to choose from. Personally, as you say, the look will be no different so Im very happy with my rev3 at the moment. Its just you can chose a different screen and only suffer 1/2 stop light loss...
