FEATURE: NO GREATER LOVE - Official Thread - Feature Film

WOW! I'm impressed grabs looks great, the BTS look awesome and the acting looks really strong, congratz.
Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Thanks! I appreciate you checking it out! I think we have a real winner!

Just finished editing scene 93... on track to hit scene 100 tomorrow (halfway through the film)...

waaaaay earlier in this thread, you mentioned taking care of the SAG paperwork. I was just curious what the criteria is for a film being eligible to apply for SAG for the actors?
If its a long answer, I don't mind researching it myself, but if you can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Brandon. I hope the editing is going well. I just remembered that you mentioned doing a 23 hour day a while back. Was that budgeted in or did you need to do it due to an issue w/ scheduling the location or something?

I ask because I'd like to know if most productions have a hell-day or two that is built into the schedule. Or do things just get moved around on the fly?

I was watching the BTS for Dead Man's Chest last night and learned that they got rained out a few times when out in the Bahamas. That was a solid 200 day shoot I believe.

Is an expensive production schedule a delicate deck of cards or a slab of clay?

How do the big boys do it? Build in slack-time? Budget in "snow-days"?

Thanks.

You will find your answers on the SAGIndie website.

Thanks Blaine...

Matt, I didn't actually compress that file, our guy doing EPK did that... will get on the horn with him this weekend and tweak it so it's 16:9 :)

We always have "cushion" in the budget, knowing you cannot prepare for EVERYTHING...

The crew and cast knew a few days in advance it was going to be a beast of a day... and we were going into a stretch where we had a day and a half off, so that was nice...

Wow! Nice thread you got going here Brandon! Thought I'd drop a line or two and say hello to you and Geoff.

Geoff...great job on the camera man! Everything I've seen so far is looking nice! Hopefully the Briceman & Brad will have a rough edit for us soon...

Now that I'm pretty much done with the website, Im ready to get my hands on some footage for visual sweetening!

Thanks "B"! I'm still working out a few kinks but overall I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I'm exited to see what kind of response we get this weekend. I know Matt and yourself have sent out emails to a bunch of people. Our friend Jay Underwood said that he would get it posted at his church this weekend as well and I need to get on the ball and get some of my people to check out the site too...

This experience has been awesome! From pre-prod to post-prod, you know this man!

Oh...I made a new banner! That old one you're sporting is killing me! Hahahhaa.....

Just wanted to toss an update in here. Had a pretty good weekend. Did some editing, got through about ten more scenes. I'm right at my target of finishing the first cut by Wednesday.

Also, I want to open up the discussion here a bit. I love what has been going on in the "Corrado" thread, and I want to discuss some of the same things here, since we all have different ways of doing things. As you may or may not know, No Greater Love is the second faith-based (Christian market) feature I have been involved in. I wrote/directed/produced a short feature (47 minutes, still considered a feature) in 2006 and sold it last year. I'm not working nearly as many jobs on NGL as I did on SMUGGLER'S RANSOM www.smugglersransom.com (It is much too large a scale) but I'll be intimately involved in the marketing/selling process as well, so if you have any questions regarding that process, please feel free to ask. Thanks!

Here is the first take on the NGL Poster:

Beautiful poster dude!

The only thing I don't like is the ampersand (&) on the third name at the top: "& Jay Underwood". Just put his name, no ampersand. Otherwise, great job.

And, BTW, the website is fantastic. Looks extremely professional.

Just noticed this thread and read it all the way through. Looks like it's going to be good. I love the images Geoff produced, great looking stuff.

Yeah I'd loss the ampersand too. And there is a little bit too much "blur" on his hair where his head meets up with her head... at least for me. Other wise it looks great.

Thanks Larry. It's fuuny you said that about the ampersand (&). We've been debating on wheather or not to keep it or drop it. It's still a toss up for now.
