Here's 3:42 of pure action and adventure from around the world... but I need help trimming it down.

Lemme know what I can do!

Thanks,
Andrew

Edit: Here's the FINAL REEL.

Oh, I almost forgot:

The video is mainly 720/24pn footage, with a mix of 1080p, 480p from the DVX100a.

Edited using Final Cut Pro 6 (the mult-res timeline was awesome for this one).

The photo sequence was shot on 35mm film, and scanned into Photoshop. I accidentally imported the photoshop file into FCP6 at full resolution (4k). Final Cut didn't seem to mind, and re-sized it to fit my 720p timeline.

I liked it. Cool sequence of guy on bike appearing in forest on 2 jumps. Nice! On the TCG I would resize in the motion tab and make it smaller. You can rename it to.. to whatever you want. Keep up the good work.

Yes. I agree. Your footie is so killer having a smaller timecode would be good. I know it's just as a placeholder but you got money in a lot of this. My only critiques would be to cut down the guy motioning to the camera and some of the talking shots.

What I love is the bumblee in the foreground and the flip on the bike. Love the Llamas on the hillside and the flamingos.. and just the atmosphere. Really good colors and style.

BTW, what's the music? Nice choice there and just an overall great mood on this.. SWEETNESS

Thanks for the input, Jim!

I've been battling with the the TCG. Great tip for renaming it! I'll work on that.

Justyn,

Yeah now that its mentioned, the shot with the guy motioning the camera is a bit long :)

THE BEE! Those shots are one-in-a-thousand. Usually I'm covered in mosquitoes instead, which tend to ruin shots. The Century .55x lens made the bee even better.

The music is by Lali Puna. They've done some work with a group called DNTEL. I like them too.

That was fantastic! My favorite thing was the great variety in the reel. Cool to see some sports and interviews and artists all combined. Very nice work. My only complaint would be the previously mentioned TCG stuff, but thats its. Keep up the good work!

I really appreciate the shots on the horse. It must have been pretty challenging to use the hvx while riding; or was that one you used a dvx on? Anyways, great job.

Thanks mb72378,

The shots on the horse were done with the HVX. Since we were unsure of the weather, I also hauled a LowePro Road Runner roller/backpack for saftey. And an aluminum tripod.

Now thats earning yer keep :)

Really nice work, enjoyed the whole reel.
Only think I might change is cutting it down quite a bit, making it 1 1/2 or 2 min. in length. Just thinking from the perspective of somebody viewing the reel for work and if they have a bunch of ones to go through they might find it a bit long.
Just my 2 cents.

Thanks again all. I couldn't resist so I posted this trailer of a future Television show that will be released in 2009. Anyway as you will see some of the same shots from my demo reel are in this trailer as well. I shot this show in October of 07 on the Alaskan Peninsula. This is my real job. DP and owner of an outdoor video production company. I sell stock footage in any spare time I have. I shoot write edit and narrate most of our shows then author them to DVD.... I like to think of it as National Geographic goes hunting...

Do you shoot with Zach and that crew, I recognize some of the shots in photos I've seen on MTBR and such! Very nice!

Not to worry, Jim!

Your reel looks so fantastic, I think having a link here adds more value to my thread :)

Thanks BUCK !

Yes, Zach and I are producing the "From Dusk Till Dirt" project. Have you seen any of the teaser podcasts on Littermag.com?

Apparently one of our shoots made a full page in Decline magazine. Haven't seen it yet, so it's still rumor!!
