Friends of "IFHY", Lend Me Your Ears!!!

I like the "Absolutely Gorgeous" quote a lot, but the "Brilliant" quote could come off as a bit arrogant. My humble opinion.

i think you're making this out to be a bigger deal than it actually is. one guy didn't like it, so what. you've got to roll with the punches.

As far as the review, don't let it get to you too much. It's one guy who seemingly woke up on the wrong side of the bed, and even if that's not the case, one film can't please everyone. Just in this case, it pleases most everyone.

The poster is great! In regards to the comment left above about "Brilliant" seeming too arrogant, I see where Will is coming from, but I don't know if it is extremely bad. If you decided to change it, though, you could always replace it with part of a quote by me:

"A timeless and witty piece full of character and passion." -Nick Lane, Conspiracy Penguin Productions

I would probably use "Witty" or "Timeless" Haha! Anyway, it really was a lovely film, don't get too worked up over this, just keep rolling!

 Cheers,

Where's the asterix!? It makes the title instanly recognizable. Really think you should put the little fella back in his place.

As for the review, it wasn't a bad review so much, not like he bagged it completely.

that's interesting, you feel the title is more eye-catching with the asterisk in it? i'll definitely consider that.

Really nice poster Zak. Also you shouldn't have too many probs displaying the asterix poster (that's completely secondary though, not why I mentioned putting it back in).

I dunno..

The amount of GOOD press.. and great things people have said about your film (myself included) posting this seems a bit ridiculous.

Like crying over spilled milk.

Who gives a ****... you made a great film. You should be happy about your work.

It would mean everything to me to see this community stand up to poor taste!

come on... grow a set would ya... this guy has an opinion I don't see the need in rallying people to tell him how much he "should have liked the film".

"Everyone loves my film! except this one guy.. go tell him how much you loved it!"

Come on man... you're better than that..

haha! grow a set? you think i'm acting like a p*ssy because i want to fight for my film? f*ck that.

this is not about proving a point to reviewer, he's entitled to his opinion... definitely. I have no interest in trying to change his mind. I am proud of the work and that's why I'm talking about getting an alternate perspective in the review's comments section so that all the visitors who read the review realize that his two star review is not representative of the way the majority of viewers responded to this work.

i'm not whining. i'm fighting to keep the hard-earned "heat" on this project. with or without you, loki. :)

I think this thread is pretty ridiculous. You know you have a great film here.. I know that.. so do a bunch of other people.

If you want heat on it.. fair enough.. I read it differently when I dropped by here.

Keep the furnace going. You do great work sir.

you know, loki it IS ridiculous. but sadly, the guys here aren't the kind of people who make the decision to finance my next picture. that's my audience now. i have half a dozen projects and want a $2,000,000 development deal. i've got this short and two features, and IFHY is the lead horse, clearing a path, establishing the "Sabi" voice for thousands of people who never heard of me.

it IS so f*cking ridiculous for it to be this much work. it's a full time job. but i know too many guys (friends and former filmmakers) who passively half-assed it and let their future slip away. it's like they did their cast and crew screening and ran out of gas -- like that was the finish line.

this is a crucial time for Sabi -- our "first impression" in many ways, and i went to keep things hot.

I first thought the missing I dots were styleelements :D There is still one missing though. The seconds dot in entertaining right at the beginning.

they were "style elements", but i keep flip flopping. cant decide which i like better. thanks for the tip!
