congratulations man! Very excited for ya. Hope it opens some nice doors for your future. What exactly does 300 against 600 mean?

The first amount is what I get for the first 2 drafts (original work and 1 rewrite, if necessary--$300K) and if the script gets made, and I have sole writing credit, then I get the rest ($300K).

Fantastic and congrats.

You are living my dream. Enjoy and prosper.

I hope it is the start of great things for you.

Wow! This is what I have wanted for so long. Congrats, man! How many pages is the script? Maybe we can work together in the future.

 Cheers,

Thank you very much. The whole thing has been so humbling and gratifying--

The script is 112 pages currently. I cut it down from the original 120, mostly for pacing in ACT 3.

What do you get before you start writing drafts? It appears as if you don't get paid if they don't order any drafts?

sorry--let me clarify. The script is done, and sold.

I will receive a check this week for $300K (or whatever remains after the attorney gets done with it);

then, under the terms of the contract, I owe them 1 additional rewrite, if necessary. There may not be a rewrite--I won't know until it makes it through Development. But, no matter what happens, I get the first lump sum this week.

Congratulations Kyle, that is a huge accomplishment!! I can only imagine how you must feel right now.

I'm anxious to read the PDF you put together but many of the pages are showing up like this:

yes, he's correct--use acrobat 8+.

Sorry about the inconvenience. There's a lot of good stuff in it though, at least I think so..

No, no inconvenience - my mistake. It was opening in Apple's Preview instead of Reader.

The pdf looks to be an excellent compilation, thanks so much for sharing it! I'll be giving it a good read.

Congrats again. I hope you had a big celebration :)

Oh by the way, if your contact at the prodco or whoever bought the screenplay hasn't hooked you up already, get an Agent. It will be a slam dunk at this stage. You should be able to get an agent at a Tier 1 agency such as CAA or William Morris. Have the prodco call for you - you'll get right in.

If for some reason it doesn't work out, PM me and I'll hook you up with my agent who'd take you fir sure based on a sale like that.

Again, great job.
