The American car industry DESERVES to die

OldCorpse... dude... I asked for people to aim for a little less griping, and instead a get massive posts about griping?

We didn't lock this thread, we didn't delete any posts, in fact all I did was ask that maybe we could moderate ourselves to perhaps a more constructive line of discussion instead of what is, effectively, a whole lot of bitching. Right? So please explain what's wrong with just asking people that they raise the bar a little, aim a little higher, etc. That's all I asked.

Anyone notice that this thread is still open? And that it hasn't been censored?

Here's my angle: success breeds success. Bitching breeds bitching. So let's try to have less complaining and more success, okay? That's ALL I was trying to say, and frankly I don't see what's wrong with it.

Wife has a German VW passat.

I have a Subaru Forester.

Both have been nothing but pure joy to own and drive.

My next car for a production vehicle will be a Toyota Sienna.

You couldn't GIVE me a GM/Chevy/Ford.

Uh well I had a post deleted the same time DivotDan edited his at the request of the/a mod(s)....

Not bitchin', just sayin'. I didn't think either post was offensively negative but I can see how you the mods didn't want it going in that direction.....

Enough already from me, it ain't my ball.....

Anhar how are you dealing with cargo on the bike? I'm cleaning mine up in the morning and hoping to start using it for around town errands when the weather cooperates. Best I've come up with is some milk crates lashed to a cargo rack on the back. Cheap and you can toss some grocery bags in it or anything else you go buy. Standard panniers just dont look all that useful for groceries and stuff. And who's going to steal a bike with milk crates tied to it? Still getting a lock though...

Simple, I go online and do my shopping, then I let Them deliver to my door... :D
(of course you are right, for shifting the heavy stuff you do need car, just use a bike when I'm the only cargo ;) )

My Crackendale is hanging in my garage on hooks - a spot where it spends far too much time.

I'm lazy.

:(

Now thats the way to buy groceries... They tried that for a while here (Oklahoma) but I dont know of anyone still doing it. Never caught on I guess. I'd be all over it.

I have been buying Ford trucks for years. Plus a couple of Thunderbirds. But imho Ford trucks are hard to beat. My wife drives a Honda.
