Hey everyone online!

I just finished DPing a project for school and I thought I would share it with everyone. We were given a pretty simple script and were told we could only change one or two lines. Our director decided to adapt it to a puppet booth setting. At first we were a little skeptical about his vision, but things worked out pretty well. We are all quite keen on the final product. Let me know what you guys think about it! Hope you all enjoy!

I enjoyed it. It's a very simple short. It was shot well (nice lighting and limited depth of field). For talking heads in one location, you guys kept me interested. Puppets are so dirty!

Nice overall piece. The old BF though wasn't really giving too much as far as the acting and you shot him in a side profile. Was that a conscious choice?

Loved the colors and opening shot. Nice overall example of creating a series of moments between the two main actors.

Hey everyone,
Thanks so much for all the positive reinforcement! The blond guy has his background in theatre acting, and we liked his facial expressions that he was giving us on our shoot day so we decided to get a lot of coverage on face shots, but no it wasn't really a conscious choice to do it profile. I will take another look at it and pass on your insight to our director. Thanks a bunch!
As for the colours we love them too. When we were putting the set together we spent a night just slapping all the available paint that we had onto scrap wood to see what went well together. It was a pretty fun evening. We then based our wardrobe (as much as we could) and our choice of fabrics around that colour scheme.
The only thing im not too happy with was our choice of the dark backgroud when you are looking out the window of the puppet booth, and the blocking of the girl so that her hair kind of disapeasr. But hey! You learn from your mistake.

Thanks again everyone!

Ian
