Help needed ingesting 1080/24p footage into FCS2

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me with this (likely rookie) problem.

I'm trying to ingest 1080/24p footage into FCS2.

This is how it is turning out:

I notice that in FCS2 there is a video capture preset for 1080/24pA, but not 1080/24p. My 1080/24pA footage looks fine.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Many thanks!

Edit: This happens regardless of whether I log and transfer via firewire or transfer the files onto an external drive using my PC.

You should have shot it at 1080/24pA, emphasis on the "A". FCP only supports 24pA for DvcProHD, when you use 24pA to capture 24p your footage turns out like what's above because the pulldown is in different places in each format. Make sure to shoot in 24pA from now on.

Thanks for your input. I've now discovered that (and it's a lesson learned that I'll never forget)...

ok, so seeing this post is scaring me. I'm shooting a project right now in 108024p, and already started editing it in final cut studio 2 without a problem. i delete the pulldown frames etc making the footage for 29.97 to 23.98. we're only a few days into the shoot, is this going to be a problem?

downgrade to final cut 6.0 or 6.01 and log and transfer. it should use 1080p30 as the compression, and then remove pulldown frames leaving you with 23.98 footage. no interlace. then export in compressor and start shooting in 108024pA.

i had a similar problem.
