Hey, everyone. i have a newbie question, how can i view the mxf clips in thumbnails format after i copy all the stuff in p2 card to a local drive and take out the card? you know , that will makes it much easier during the editing cuz you can easyly pick the right clip.
thank you all!

I'm not sure there's any way to do this directly from Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac). Since you didn't specify which platform you're using, I'll assume Windows and recommend checking out P2Forge. Excellent piece of software for P2 file management, review, and logging. Reasonably priced, and frequently updated, to boot.

You can also check out Panasonic's free P2 Viewer software (or P2CMS)--however, I find them both to be a little lacking. They might suit you perfectly, though.

On a PC you can do this with SpeedEDIT from NewTek. Not only can you see the pictured thumbnails, but place the cursor over the thimbnails and you can play the clip while still in the bin/folder. If you hold shift, the thumbnails play at 5 X's speed so you can confirm it's the right version of the right clip. I think you can also play at 10 X's and in reverse, But don't hold me to that since I don't need that as much.

We often have 3-5 takes of each scene and being able to scrub them in the file bin helps "Speed" up the editing.
