FCP 6.0.2 and MB Looks-Cant find Plug-In

I have Final Cut Studio 2, and I installed the Magic Bullet Looks package. I installed the one for Final Cut Pro, and when I go to Final Cut, I cannot locate the Looks Filter anywhere!

I see all the MisFire filters, but no Looks Filter.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

MacPro, Tiger 10.4.11

Thanks, Scott K.

should be on the top of the list, right above all the misfire plugs.

FCP MENU >> VIDEO FILTERS >> MAGIC BULLET >> Looks, Misfires etc...

Thanks Zak,

Very weird how this is not getting installed on my system. Could you send me the Look Plugin file?

The installer placed everything else except that file.

I looked at the MBLooks Installer Log File, and in there it installed everything except the Looks plugin. Very odd.

Thanks, Scott K.

Yes, I will on Monday. They are closed now, and I needed to work on a project this weekend. :(

No problem, Thanks for your assistance.

Thanks, Scott K.

Hmm, it came with mine and it mentions it in the manual... it just says Look Suite Favorites. Don't think it has a .FCP after it though. Look through the files/folder from MB using Finder.

Ok, I re-installed FCS2 over my existing installation of FCS2. I launched FCP 6.0 before I upgraded to FCP 6.0.2 thru Software Update.

The Looks Plugin was there! Ok, now, I did the 6.0.2 update, and the Looks Plugin once again disappeared.

So it seems that there is a bug in the 6.0.2 update, causing FxPlug plugins to not appear.

I will be reporting this to Apple, as well as calling Apple Support to attempt to get clarity on this issue.

Thanks, Scott K.

Ah, interesting. Lucky me, I've got 6.02 and the looks plugin working - sorry you're having trouble. Thanks for reporting to Apple, I wonder if I'll have trouble soon...

Issue Resolved!!!!

A big thanks to Gabe at Noise Industries (noiseindustries.com) for helping me solve this issue.

It seems that for some reason, the ProFX.framework folder, located in:

/Library/Frameworks/

is not being updated to the proper version by either the Final Cut Studio 2 installer, or the Final Cut Pro 6.0.2. Updater.

Version 1.2.2 is the updated correct version. I had 1.2

Here is the link to the 1.2.2 version:

http://www.tweekav.com/fcp_fxplug_fix/ProFX.framework.zip

Once downloaded, trash your old ProFX.framework folder, (make a backup first) unzip the new one, and place it in your /Library/Frameworks/ folder.

Reboot, and launch Final Cut. You should now see all your FxPlug Plugins!

Thanks, Scott K.
