HPX500 update with AVC-Intra?

Jan said the whole line would eventually have AVC-Intra, but that might be 4-5 years away.

The existing model cannot be upgraded to have AVC-Intra.

I know it belongs in another thread but what are the chances that the succesor of the HVX200 will already be prepaired to have the upgrade possibility to AVC-intra in those 4-5 years you mention?

Who knows? I'd suspect not, because there will likely be at least one or two more successors before that four-five year waiting period is up!

Sorry I meant a physical update, like an HPX500a. Not a software patch.

4-5 years away for the WHOLE line, I'm guessing that means the lower end stuff is further away. I was wondering if an update might happen sooner with the HPX500a, say next year?

Add a p2 mobile with the avc-intra card installed in a backpack, run an sdi cable to it and Blam! You are recording 10-bit! (and going to see your chiropractor I guess)

I think hunter opened his up to check for an expansion board slot but there was none, but space for a turkey sandwich, EDIT: Wait do you mean like a whole nother model (DVX100b)?

The dumb side of the hpx series has a plate (like a computer case) that can be taken off with just a few screws. I followed the hpx2000 install manual for the avc-intra card but when I looked inside the hpx500, its nothing at all like the hpx2000.

There was space for a turkey sandwich though...correct.
