I'm planning on taking my dvx100a to Rome and Florence on my vacation. What is a good bag for travel. Also anyone have any issues with traveling with a larger camera like the dvx, like theft, or customs when going to Italy or Europe?

hi, i used a KATA bag which i bought from a local store. it's a sturdy bag with soft padding inside. it also has this trolley insert option, better bring a foldable trolley if your equipment is too heavy. you can get it (trolley) from any brookstone stores...

I just went to Mexico City back in November and I had no problems to report with the camera. I have a National Geographic backpack camera bag that I love... its exactly what you need for traveling, and there are two great benefits; theifs don't know its a 3000 dollar piece of equipment in there, just looks like a standard hikers backpack, and they may think you're with National Geographic like people thought I was and get you in places you might not otherwise get to go!

I took my DVX100B to Germany and Ireland last October. I carried it the whole time in my Targus backpack. I used the backpack because it has a laptop compartment in the back for my laptop and tons of other pockets. So I had my laptop in the back compartment, my DVX100B in the main compartment sitting on top of my 4 boxes of tapes (5 tapes per box). I also carried the battery charger and two batteries within a large ziplock in this same compartment. The only reason I insist on carrying my camera in a hardcase from now on is that I was forced to stow it in an overhead compartment on my flight from Dublin to Frankfurt and I was sweating the whole time with folks tossing thier bags against it, etc.

I travel with my DVX in a Mountainsmith Boreal ST. It's padded and a good size for the camera, shotgun mic, couple of batteries, extra tapes, and a laptop. It's also got a waterproof cover that tucks away nicely. Enjoy the journey.

I don't own this, but the cinebags backpack is comfortable and not too bulky like some of the others. It also has a pocket for a laptop if you're interested. I love my new PortaBrace bag - but that does scream camera gear.... enjoy the trip.
