HPX Host mode... anyone got it to work w/ HDD?

[Has anyone experienced plugging FireWire 6 to 4 pin and having the bluescreen of death appear? It happens everytime I tried using FireWire to dump footage.... So, I just stuck with USB 2.0 ..... This is on a PC running Vista home premium[/quote]

Same here, HPX500 to new HP 6700T with Vista. Plug-in firewire, blue screen.
