how would i do this, glittchy, film jump effect!?

1 you can use the move function and keyframes.
Duplicate your footage and place them one on top of the other. Set some keyframes a few (5 or 6) frames apart on both duplicated clips moving them vertically together. then cut and paste your keyframes back in for the number of times you want it to roll.

2 Premiere has a built in leader object , bars and tone object, and custom countdown objects.
adjust or add effects to make it look more aged / real.

artbeats sells some nice "film clutter" type stock footage that pretty much does the work for you. just do a cut or other type quick transition underneath the clutter footage, and unmultiply black (alpha out black.. you can use "screen" or "add" blending mode to do this) on the film clutter footage so you other footage shows through.

nice i got the first part going, just the film header left.

yea neil, i just saw those last night haha, but they're soo expensive, im broke right now :(

how do you think they made theirs?

I second "timegates" suggestion. I bought it and it works great. Andrew Kramer's products are not only excellent but very affordable. Not to mention his very concise and "free" tutorials.

As a complete novice with AE, I've learned a great deal from them.
