I was in Miami last week. My friends car window was smashed and my camera was stolen along with a sennheiser shotgun mic, century optics super fisheye lens and two P2 cards. Everything was in a Petrol cocoon backpack. I have reported everything to the police and had insurance but they are only covering a fraction of the loss. The serial number of the camera is J6TC00385 R. The serial number of the lens is 123515. If anyone lives in the miami area and has been offered this camera or any accessories please contact. the serial numbers on one of the p2 cards is AEC06J0579.

I will pay a $2300 reward for it's return.

Thanks

Sorry to hear about your loss. Why are they only covering a fraction of the loss? Was it because you didn't have it in the trunk? Did you have a standard Fireman's fund? My insurance company will cover any loss with only a $500 deductible.

Jeff, you can set up ebay alerts so ebay will send you an email whenever an hvx is up for sale. Also check craigslist in that area for hvx sales. I wonder if Panasonic also keeps a database of stolen camera serial numbers?

You should also periodically check the threads in User Films for behind-the-scenes photos of your equipment.
