I was playing around with my panasonic dvx100a and I did a short video just trying to learn differen angles, transitions, Fade in and out, and video fx. I'm trying to get into video directing, I know it's a terrible video but I would love for somebody who I know is good (like ya'll) to critic it and also give me help, feedback and what ever else you can do. I uploaded on vimeo but it said I have a couple of hours before it uploads so either i'm gonna put something on youtube or just wait for vimeo and come back with the url. But please stay tuned because i really need you guys help:violin:

I'm sorry the url is http://www.vimeo.com/debonaire So when your able to watch it please help me out. Thank everybody.

The video quailty did not look like a DVX100. Do you do white balance? I didn't know the white balance button was even there and my first footage was kind of lacking.

Avoid those 'creative' transitions....all you really need is cross-dissolve and fade to black.
Time your edits.
Experiment with lighting and use your best location.
Are you sure that you used the DVX? If so you need to learn to compress your stuff better.

DVXUser is a great place to learn a lot of stuff...so start poking around and learn as much as you can. Keep trying and study other people's work and see what they are doing that you're not.

Hope I helped...

your the second person who asked me was I using a dvx. Somebody told me something about white balace so I guess it's time I learn how to use my camera better so I'm gonna spend more time learning my camera (huh)

really need you advise and pointers people I'm new but want to get some where doing this

Some promise here.

Do you have the DVX book and DVD? If not you need it.

If so watch the DVD and read the book. They really lay it out for you ... and you'll get much better footage.

Sorry. I didn't tell you where the white balance button was. It is on the front of the camera, by the gain swiches. Point the camera at something white (a peice of paper) and zoom in so it fills the entire screen and press the button before you shoot. That will give the footage a nice clean look. Then you can add CC (color correction) in Post.

That's real smart. I'm gonna try that now.

I would get out of the house and shoot something. I don't know where you live but I bet you can do better than standing with a sheet hanging in the background or standing in the bathroom.
