What size memory cards do you use?

I've got 4 or 5 * 1GB SD cards which hold about 90 raws on my D80. I'd like to buy a couple 2GB cards but just worry about losing more shots. Should I be worried? If I buy them from a good brick and mortar store (and not ebay!) are the 99.9% reliable?
 
I have 2 2gb SD cards and a 512mb. Non of them have ever had any issues whatsoever.
 
Alright, I might take the 2GB plunge - the cards are only about AUS $25 which sounds pretty good I spose.
 
I shoot 2 gig & I haven't had the need for a larger card yet...Now I still have my older 512 cards and use them if I'm shooting something quick

My thinking as well....
I've been very lucky... I've never lost data on a card yet
I think I'm over 100,000 pics on my 10D and 16,000 pics on my 5D
 
aren't the solid state memories secure, I mean how would you los the date?
What can make the data in a ssm vanish?
 
I use a 4GB, 2GB and 512MB rotation. One time and dropped a 16gb into my rebel xt and held down the shutter button for about 10 minutes straight. The camera still read 999 photos remaining.
 
3 x 2GB SD cards, and a selection of smaller cards of various formats, Primarily for my Digi-Rebel XT


And yes, in theory Solid state memory doesn't have any issues. In theory.

Stuff still happens, cards do fail on (rare) occasion. There are also other unexpected events, like the accidental click of the "format" command.

Yeah, agreed. Things can happen and so I have 2 x 2 GB CF Extreme III cards. Work really well for me and I can store enough pictures for the shoots I go on. If I lose it, I don't lose that many.

I use it in my Rebel XTi.

I have two 2gigs and two 4gigs. I've heard too many horror stories about guys taking their 4 or 8 gig on vacation, filling it up, then having it fail on them, losing all info. I now pretty much stick with 2gigs, and I use the 4gigs for back-up.

I believe that there is some software that rescues lost photos.
One of this came with my sd card (never tried it though).
