thanks again for all ur comments. i really appreciate it. ya the a team woulda been awesome but once again, we shot it all in 1 day so we had to be very selective by our choices.
and the vh1 deal was in place before we shot the video. his song is used by vh1 to cut their ads too so once the video was done it was up within a month. I also framed this whole video based on a 4x3 frame but the director went with 16x9 cause it looked way better. iam i still made sure the 16x9 frame still looked good even though he assured me it would be 4x3.
some words of advice, always make sure ur whole frame looks clean and nicely liit even when its gona be cropped in post.
well i planned the whole thing couple of days prior to shooting. we also got plans of the whole set so my gaffer can plan out the distro.
i tried to simplify the lighting as much as possible by using very very soft sources so i wouldnt have to worry about shadows. my overall look was flat and more flat. i tried to punch is up as much as i could but every time i would add a highlight my director would flip and tell me to make it more 80s.
thank you. yes 80s tv was never fancy. the most fancy spot was the obsession but we literally shot that in 30 min because it was already 10 and tiffani was over her 12 hour work period. but she was really cool and stayed till we were done and she didnt charge us for OT. whats gmt?
This is pretty funny. I'm using an HVX for an upcoming project and was looking for some samples when I stumbled upon this thread.
My friend was the focus-bumbling producer. He called to ask if I'd play a part in the video since I already had a shaved head, so I played Bull
I did the morphing thing under the pretense that it probably wouldn't be used since everyone on the crew was having one shot. Of course fate would have it that the rest were out of focus so I had to go in, figures.
Anyway, love how the video turned out ,great job
