Interesting new G35 footage

Very interesting! LoL. I wouldn't put anything that's going on my camera in water, but still, neat!

It also reminds me of two things:

1) PL glass is the shiz.

2) I hate upside down images.

That was...different :)

Does anyone know the pricepoint of the G35? Couldn't find anything on their website.
This video could indicate they are going for the "high-end" market, the mini35 domain, where people are willing to pay more for reliability.

The price was on the website but it was later removed. The price that was set was 1000$ for the unit, 150$ for the camera mount (a1, hvx200, ect), 150$ for the lens mount (nikon, canon, etc) plus shipping. So, it's basically 1300$ plus shipping (unless this has changed in the last month).

There's more videos here, but they've all been posted throughout the years: http://www.virb.com/cinemek/videos

I quite liked the HVX image without the adapter on it.
Quite a dramatic shift in colors when the lens was attached.?
ps: water 'proof' or not = you brave lol

....I thought the image was filmier before you put the adapter on.... nice DOF after you put it on though

hahaa YES! great little advert. It definitely looks like the g35 has stepped it up in toughness. It looks really simple to pop on and off too. very cool stuff.

Kholi, I'll never understand how you can focus off that little lcd :P

¡MaD SkEELz y0!

Mmm although thinking about it, if I did have one of these things, im pretty sure I wouldn't keep it in a goldfish bowl.... Its a good demonstration and everything but does it really demonstrate much...

because it's a static adapter it needs to be air tight to stop dust from being a huge problem. this demonstrates that it's airtight. they've solved the biggest problem with static adapters.

the next big problem with static adapters is static grain.... i've seen grain in a few of their demo clips on the cinemek site.... but all of that stuff was shot on the old version i think.

i'd like to see footage shot at f/8 with clouds and white walls and that kind of stuff :D

Hey all. Thanks for the comments. The price point on the G35 will be in the $1500 range. We will be announcing official pricing for non pre-order customers soon. We wanted to kill 2 birds with one stone here. The videos intent is to show durability and ease of use. To me those two things are so critical especially if you are paying your bills with your craft. I hate flipped images too :)

Awesome news, J!

Hmmmm, by the way you seemingly detest flipped images, does that mean we might see a flipping solution in the near future? ;)

The trapped air would give it bouancy, but would it be enough bouancy to overcome the weight of the adapter? Thats the question.
