Hi,
Am building a new PC for the Adobe Video Suite (currently PP2 possibly CS3 soon)
But what OS should I put with it?
In my current experience on our school laptop installs we've found that:
Cons of Vista
Vista users more memory
Vista runs slower (With Exchange, Outlook 07 and Vista a particularly gruesome combination)
Vista has more compatibility issues
Vista fights you for permissions control of the computer
meanwhile:
XP Pro runs lean
XP Pro is well established and supported.
XP works.
Pros of Vista
It will support more RAM?
It offers Direct X10 support for gamers.
Backup and Restore is improved.
Vista is indeed prettier!
It seems like a simple decision...XP works...and I wonder whether Vista effectively hangs a ball and chain on the end of your fancy new quad core system?
....and yet perhaps there is still an argument for Vista??
Microsoft poses the question....
"Ready to move up?"
What are your thoughts...where should those of us in PC land move?
