Letus ex1 fix and mixing footage together and Zacuto handheld

On my blog you can see a shoot I did using the Letus EX1 and Zacuto combo mixed in with non adaptor footage.

The new EX1 fix is fantastic.

I love it. Very well done.

I specially like the frame effect. I am going to have to assume it was done in post for two reasons. One is you can not go high speed with the Letus. Second I don't think that you change frame rates with the EX without changing the speed of the film.

Do you care to tell how you achieved it?

Great job.

I never take the adapter off. I would be to afraid to mix both, but you've done it successfully.

Congratulations.

Quite a variety of head wear Philip: Helmet, Beanie, Scarf... where's the snorkle? :D

You don't use a mattebox with the adapter? just the focus gear?
Didn't see any gaffing in those stills, all done with available light? and smoke machine?

ps: VERY nice footage... very nice short :)

slightly tweaked version now up. Available in letus section as well as blog

I also wear a very a nice Bonnet, but there is no photo of that. A good DP needs a variety of headgear!

No Mattebox, I forgot my rod extensions (ooer missus for you Carrry On fans) so couldn't get it on.

All done with available light, smoke machine was just handheld little thing, focus gear only as I found follow focus hard to operate handheld with zacuto rig.

I used my 17-35mm Nikon f2.8 zoom for first time on this shoot quite a lot. Very impressive lens.

The pictures look stunning; however, I do see that the left and right side of the frame does appeared to be much softer/less sharp then the rest...like the problem I've been posting in my first thread.

Really?! This has the ex1 fix on it and it is 100% sharp edge to edge. I went over the rushes methodically. Can you point out shots in particular? There are about 3 shots in the opening sequence shot with the Hartblei shift tilt lens which are deliberately soft on the edges. Are those the ones you mean because everything else is pin sharp to my eye, in fact both my eyes!

Great! I have just made some toys as a tie in with McDonald's Happy Meals. There will be a small flip book in there of "The Trench". The kids will love it!

I get the rights to the action figures! You cost me enough already, Letus Zacuto, need to re-coup.

Maybe it's just my eyes and perhaps those are just smoke and/or type of look/lens that you use. But here are the stills I grabbed from the MP4 file.

It just looks to me that the left and right side of the frame is a bit softer/less focus then the middle of the frame, at least in these grabes. But again, this might just be the smoke or look the film is going for.

And on a side note, I'd be so happy if I can even get close to what Philip's has accomplished in this footage. It certainly is gorgeous pictures and quality. I just finished watching the 1080P version.

By the way, is this a short film? Looking forward to seeing the whole thing.
