We'll be putting up a behind the scenes soon where we go over the shooting/Visual FX of the spec. I'll post it when it's up!

i haven't checked out the BTS yet but i definitely will. now i would just like to see what you could do with a decent advertising budget.
 
the explosions seemed a bit too "white" for my taste. Perhaps try to add some color to it to make it more yellow/orange/brown to make it feel like dirt is being thrown up into the air.
 
Really cool stuff. What did you use for the fire? This actually does inspire me for future effects work.

Thanks man! We used After Effects to composite stock footage of explosions into the scene. The roto work on the first set of bombs after the house explodes was a *****. We had to do it frame by frame.

Thanks for the comment on the fires. They are a bit white - reason being is that we did a bleach bypass look to the entire commercial and that's how it ended up. I maybe could have "cheated" and tweaked the fire to not get that overexposed but there is a bit of an orange glow (might be hard to see in the youtube version and I liked the way that looked so I just left it.

Great stuff man. I also did some roto work on an explosion running scene, i know how you feel...but in the end it's worth it.
 
Yeah it definitely is worth it. It's tedious but you forget how much of a pain it was when you're watching it in all it's glory!
