The best music video ever done. Filmed with the movietube.

Try to find the HD version on the movietube website. Thats the version I saw before this and it looked great.

Slinkii: I am usually on Coffee, that might explain a lot...

I just like this song and loved the video. Next time I will try to make my posts more opinion-less.

THANKS FOR PEEING ON MY PARADE!:badputer:

The original 720p version was on the MovieTube website for quite some time. Unfortunately now it's gone. And trust me. You could see that they used the 35mm adapter. But on youtube everything looks like crap.

Peter

Hey hey, I am just as much an old fart as you two....

Oh wait......

Heh Heh I got you all beat. I use to take photos at a club when groups like
the stranglers, gang of four and ultravox would party down. The craziest
night was with an all girl band from Japan...... Talking heads were mainstream
and it's great to see recycled ideas that we did already..

Yeah Hunter, no bagging on you or the video, I just thought it not worthy as "the best music video you had ever seen".

HVX Guy:

I was right there in the same era. Saw Gang of Four at a small club in LA. Saw U2 on their first trip to the U.S. when they were something like 17 years old. I was at the Whiskey the night X had their showcase to get signed to their first record deal. Plasmatics when they were exploding cars and ripping the stage apart with chainsaws. Yep, I am old, just like you. Television? Richard Hell and the Voidoids? Tom Verlaine? They were all fun to see in a club with 15 other people. I wish I would have made The Sex Pistols in Atlanta.

I can actually beat all of this. My parents had me at the Monterey Pop Festival when I was 6. I was in the audience, probably involuntarily getting high from all of the weed fumes. Good times. Yep, like Zelig, I was there. Can't recall much other than it was loud and colorful.

Best.

don't worry guys, we're not all youngins here. definitely a talking heads deriviative, but as a big TH fan, i dig that.

agree with puredrifting - gondry's music videos are some of the best out there. what amazes me about him is that ALL of his work seems to have a common 'gondry' thread, but at the same time he has done so many wildly imaginative and risky things.

my favorite gondry is definitely aphex twin's come to daddy - not anything like this but still awesome!

Why do I bet that you and I are the only ones on this thread old enough to have ever seen a Talking Heads video? ;-)

Dan

whoa nellie there!

Hardly.

It also reminded me a little of Poster Children. Not nearly as good as either though.

Beat this.

I clearly remember the first Moonwalk and I don't mean Michael Jackson. John Glenn should've won best actor that year. The video transmission was a little noisy though.

lol

lol

I dont quite know what it is, but the song, the butt slapping...perfect. I havent seen a music video that was as enjoyable as this one sense I can remember...

I have vivid clear memories of that as well......
Some of the best TV ever produced!!!
MTV did start out with that footage.....

John Glenn? Do you mean Neal Armstrong or Buzz Aldrin?

I was a couple of years away then but can certainly remember the inaugural broadcasts of MTV and the very first airing of Thriller in my early teens.

He probably did, John Glenn was the third American to fly in space and the first American to orbit the Earth, aboard Friendship 7 in 1962.
On July 20 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to land on the Moon.
I met Buzz Aldrin in Houston a few years ago. Nice guy.

... and of course Kraftwerk ( which is my favorite band since I bought Autobahn in 1974)

I own every ALBUM and 12" (English) on Vinyl. And 1 or 2 german version albums

Im still blown away when I listen to Numbers/Nummeren, not much has been able to touch it considering the TIME in which it was made.
The one exception would be Beatbox from the Art of Noise released some 2 to 3 years later.

And yeah, the video and song are surely tibutes/rips of The Talking Heads.

That's Chris Cunningham, not Gondrey

drats, my bad. i get those two mixed up because of the 'work of' dvds.

that and some of cunningham's other aphex twin work is the creepiest stuff i've seen. love it.
