Knight Rider Tv Series

Anyone watching the movie that's serving as the possible pilot for the Knight Rider TV series? So far its pretty good. I grew up watching the old Knight Rider, and I heard they were doing a new one and I was stoked. I'm likin' this one so far.

I'm not likin it at all. It looks awfully video-ish and shot like a sitcom. KIT's voice Val Kilmer sounds like it's coming outside of the show and is distracting.

i liked how they were in the Montecito Hotel and Casino from the show Las Vegas. I wasn't expecting much out of this show, but I'm being entertained by it, and that's all I can ask for.

Oh, I dislike the design of the car very much, inside AND out. And Kilmer's doing a Spock impression.

But other than that . . . it's the same show.

LOL, should have figured they'd launch this after the Daytona 500... :D

I didn't see it, but it's worth mentioning that Kilmer's only been involved for a couple of weeks, since the original guy had to pull out because he's done some GM commercials or something. That said, I just checked and William Daniels is still with us, so why not cast him in the first place?

As for the car... yeah, it's a little weird to have a Mustang in there, but they're not even making a Trans Am/Firebird/Camaro these days, are they? They probably didn't have much choice but to look elsewhere...

Well, Ford is paying for it, so it has to be a Shelby.

I'm quite disappointed in the show. It's pretty weak... I was REALLY looking forward to it too...

It's a shame that they rehash old material and **** it up, it really is.

Thats what I was gonna say. What would make them think that old material which wasn't even that good in the first place would make it on its second go around?

If they are gonna rehash old tv, might as well rehash stuff that was pretty good in the first place...MacGyver, Miami Vice, Hill Street Blues....etc...

Terrible. Just terrible. The documentary I ended up switching to on Haunted Caribbean was twice and compelling and much better acted. And that had lots of reenactments.

1st problem, know your demographic: If you are making a show for the 10 to 17 year old demographic don't push an agenda or inappropriate material:
  • Lesbian FBI agent wakes up with a one night stand in her bed
  • Boy hero sleeping with 2 women at once
If I'm a parent and I see these scenes the program and subsequent TV show would be off limits to my kids. Why would a producer shoot himself in the foot that way?

2nd Problem: Kitt's voice comes from the ether but should come from a speaker(s). Even the original TV show knew this.

3rd problem: Very video-ish. Poorly lit.

4th problem: A car that reconfigures itself by creating mass/material. Please.... Have a little respect for physics.

5th problem: Casting. A little too much boy in the boy hero.

6th problem: Worst dialog at a funeral scene ever...

I think this will be possible in the future. I only saw parts of the show so I am not sure to what extent they went with the technology but many car companies have theoretical designs using nano-technology. The cars will be able to reconstruct themselves and repair dents and scratches by shifting on molecular level. Its not even remotely possible today but in terms of physics it definitely possible in the future.

A lot of what the new KITT can supposedly do sounds suspisciously like that old show Viper... my favorite was the jacked-up four-wheel-drive offroad version. :D
