Wonder what the next fest will be...

Oh. I'm not voting for a 48 hour fest. Just sayin' why some of us won't start workin' til 48hours prior to deadline. LoL

You're right. I'm of the other type. The one who simply never gets motivated enough to get one done. Then, when I finally do, I get paid work and have to walk away from a good script.

I've done that three times now.

Why don't you try offering up some of your scripts to other members?
Like John LaBonney and a few others do every fest...

Cheers,

I hate to endorse violence... but Gun Fest could be fun... you know... Shoot 'em Up... Smoking Aces... 2 Smoking Barrels... etc. etc. etc.

Basically every entry must feature at least one gun and a gun related theme... let's say you are against guns... do an anti-gun piece... maybe you're a fan boy of the NRA... do that... or maybe you're just a middle of the road, action lovin' regular guy who enjoys a good shootout.

This would force the entries to take on their choice of action, suspense, morality... you name it... the genre is still pretty wide open, but what I'd really look forward to seeing is Shoot 'em Up style entries from those that could pull it off.

OK... if not that... then Breast Fest.

Either one would be fun to watch.

Come on... History Fest! It has to be shot anytime from 1970s back to antiquity.

I actually like this idea. It is VERY wide open, and it would be interesting to see how people interpreted their era of choice. Nice job!

This would also be cool. Also very open ended, we would have the potential of seeing a variety of entries. Would be fun!

ABSOLUTELY NO OBJECTIONS HERE.

Wheres Waldo Fest, must include one man in read and white wearing a beanie and glasses, but you must keep him well hidden, set to the theme of American Gladiators.

Yeah you're right thats just sill, BreastFest it is :D

how about 'post-modern' fest.

every entry has to use footage from at least three previous DVX fest entries, excluding your own. you can shoot new stuff, add to an old one, etc.

yeah weird i know, but i thought it was too funny of an idea to not post.

The same series of circumstances happen on my end as well. After, the paying work, I'm worn out. I rest, then get ready to dive into a film project... Wait... more work drops in my lap.

I just have to make one regardless of the work. Last year, I devoted two months producing an ultra-low budget feature. There were only two high paying job interruptions and they were for a couple days producing coverage of several news breaking events in Manhattan.

This is a great way to build a body of personal work and gain some knowledge through the comments of others.

Wouldn't it be crazy if when the announced the next Fest that they only allowed us one week to make it!?

Week Fest

That sure would cause quite the ruckus around here. :D

48hour Fest is not really fair since most of us have jobs and such. One week is possible, but still frantic.

The problem with a week long fest is even the best film made will always be "really good, considering they only had a week to make it"

There are plenty of options out there for fast turnaround fests.
I've always liked the time given in these fests because it's just long enough to make something of quality
but just short enough to still give entrants a sense of urgency about getting it done.

Just my 2 cents on it.

Yes, but it would be nice to see what everyone can do under extreme pressure. I think some Members might surprise us. It would definitely nix the amount of pre-hype and such.

I think we would still see some quality stuff.

That might be another fest outside of DVXuser fest. AdFest was a short run, considering the time you had to exhibit. 30 Seconds, that is.

History fest -- More money than most of us have.
