That's what they said on reduser. They will give prefernce to reservation holders. I think that Panny should come out with something.. it's been 3 years since the HVX was announced.. or more, right? I'd love to see an upgraded HVX and an affordable RED option and maybe a few sour faced looks from the Sony crowd..

I sincerely hope this new, announced camera is not the route Panasonic is planning to go...

Panasonic can say that this new 150 cam is not the HVX replacement, but I seriously hope they ARE planning an HVX replacement... Saying it is not a replacement and not continuing the Handheld P2 line is "replacing it".

Who says they're not continuing the handheld P2 line? It's been one of their most successful camcorders EVER. It put P2 in more hands than any other product. P2 is their biggest commitment they've ever made, they've bet the company on it.

That said, it's not for everyone. There are plenty of indie folk or longform shooters who want cheap off-the-shelf commodity media, and that's who the 150 is aimed at.

Hope so, Barry. I would most certainly recommend the 150 to the bellow 4k crowd.

Just hope that, now that P2 is an established Broadcast format with broad use worldwide, Panasonic doesn't forget the small, independent producers/filmmakers who jumped to the HVX and helped them put P2 on the worldwide map...
